Cameron Crotty News

With the surprising return of Thomas Chabot (forearm), Crotty will be the odd man out of Ottawa's lineup as a healthy scratch. The 26-year-old Crotty recently made his season debut with Ottawa, averaging 14:47 time-on-ice and tallying one assist in four games.

With the recent injury to Carter Yakemchuk (concussion), Crotty will be the next defenseman up for an injury-depleted Ottawa blueline. The 26-year-old Crotty only has two games of NHL experience. He has seven points (3G / 7A) this season in 49 games with Belleville (AHL).

Ottawa added to its defensive depth on Monday after it announced the signing of Cameron Crotty to a two-year, two-way contract. The 26-year-old has appeared in two NHL games with two different organizations (ARI, MIN) since making his debut in 2023-24. He is expected to start 2025-26 in Belleville (AHL) after captaining Iowa (AHL) with 10 assists in 64 games played last season.

Crotty made his NHL debut last season, playing one game with the Arizona Coyotes. The 25-year-old defenseman has spent the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign in the AHL, scoring eight points (0G / 8A) in 56 games with the Iowa Wild.

Crotty was a third-round pick, 82nd overall, of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut last season, playing one game, but has exclusively been an AHL player. He has five points (0G / 5A) in 19 games with the Iowa Wild (AHL). In a corresponding move, Minnesota assigned David Jiricek to the AHL.

Iowa (AHL) gained more depth pieces on Tuesday as Minnesota signed Cameron Crotty to a one-year, two-way contract on Tuesday. The 25-year-old managed to appear in one NHL game with Arizona in 2023-24 but spent the majority of the season with Tucson (AHL) where he had three goals and 13 points in 55 games played.

Crotty made his NHL debut for the Coyotes on Sunday and registered four hits in 10:03 time-on-ice in a 4-2 loss to the Dallas Stars. The 24-year-old Crotty was the 82nd overall pick of the Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and has spent the entirety of the last four seasons playing with the Tuscon Roadrunners (AHL).

Crotty was a third-round pick in 2017 and wrapped up his third-year at Boston University with nine points (4G / 5A) in 30 games. Crotty is a 6-foot-2, 190 lbs. blueliner who will likely head to Tucson (AHL) when he turns pro.
