‘I’m coming for you’: Golden Knights’ Nic Dowd shares choice words toward Mammoth’s Logan Cooley

Logan Cooley certainly had an eventful first career Stanley Cup Playoff game, as he not only scored his first career playoff goal in his postseason debut on Sunday night, but he also caught the attention of Nic Dowd – and not for good reasons.
Nic Dowd had some choice words for Logan Cooley after being bloodied late in the third 👀
The chaos began with the Utah Mammoth and Vegas Golden Knights centers cross-checking each other off of a faceoff late in the third period, causing all of their teammates to get involved in a scrum. Dowd was initially separated by the referees as teammates Rasmus Andersson and Keegan Kolesar went after Cooley, but Dowd then chased down Cooley to engage him again. Then, as the game came to an end, Dowd was quite vocal towards Cooley as the two teams left the ice.
“I’m coming for you, and I’m gonna f**king kill you,” Dowd appeared to say to Cooley.
Dowd got the last laugh in the game, as not only did the Golden Knights come away with the 4-2 win in Game 1 to take a 1-0 series lead in their first round series against Utah, but he also scored the game-winning goal in the game.
Dowd had another solid regular season with five goals and 16 assists for 21 points in 75 games this season, including one goal and four assist for five points in 20 games with the Golden Knights after he was acquired from the Washington Capitals. Now in his 12th season, the 35 year old is looking for his first Stanley Cup with Vegas.
Cooley is on the other end of his career trajectory, as the 21 year old is only in his third NHL season, with him and the Mammoth poised to be consistent playoff contenders for years to come. He dealt with a lower-body injury, which limited him to 54 games this season, but he was excellent in that time with 24 goals and 19 assists for 43 points.
Dowd will have to wait a couple days before getting his revenge on Cooley, as the Golden Knights and Mammoth will square off again for Game 2 on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. MT/6:30 p.m. PT.
