Stars sign Dylan Hryckowian to two-year, entry-level contract

The Dallas Stars have announced that they’ve signed forward Dylan Hryckowian to a two-year, entry-level contract.
Mom said don’t forget your brother 🤝 We have signed Dylan Hryckowian to a two-year entry-level contract.
At this point in time, there are no details about Hryckowian’s contract beyond it being a two-year contract. The salary has not been disclosed, although the fact that it’s an entry-level contract limits him to a certain range of salary.
However, that salary range is also different depending on if the contract begins this season or next season. If the contract begins this season, the most he can be signed for is $975,000, while if it begins next season, the maximum is $1,025,000.
When the contract begins will also depend on where Hryckowian is eligible to play this season. If it begins this season, then he could join the Stars. However, if it begins next season, he cannot play in the NHL, and can only play in the AHL with Dallas’ minor-league affiliate, the Texas Stars, if he signs an AHL contract or an AHL professional tryout contract.
Hryckowian continued what’s been a consistent tenure with Northeastern University in the Hockey East conference. He finished the season with 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points in 30 games, which was a career high, but not by much, as he had totals of 34 and 36 in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis had this to say about Hryckowian when naming his top 10 college free agents last week:
“Hryckowian is very intriguing. At 5-foot-10, he lacks the size teams are chasing after. But the same goes for his brother, Justin, who could finish the year with 30 points as a useful rookie in Dallas. Could an NHL team take a chance on Dylan, hoping for the same? He often plays more than 20 minutes a night for Northeastern and has tallied 34, 36 and 36 points over the past three seasons. He has been incredibly productive at every level, and he plays with so much pace. NHL teams shouldn’t be worried about Hryckowian’s lack of size – it hasn’t seemed to slow him or his brother down one bit.”
Hryckowian joins his brother Justin in the Stars organization. Justin was also a college free agent by Dallas in 2024, only needing less than a season in the AHL before making his NHL debut in 2024-25. Justin has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 67 games with the Stars this season.
