Hurricanes’ Seth Jarvis, Eric Robinson undergo successful surgeries

The Carolina Hurricanes are paying the price for winning the Stanley Cup, as general manager Eric Tulsky announced to the media on Friday night that wingers Seth Jarvis and Eric Robinson underwent successful surgeries.
Jarvis underwent a shoulder surgery, and is expected to have a four-to-six month timeline for recovery, which would mean he will return sometime between November and the new year in the 2026-27 season. He had been dealing with a lingering shoulder injury for a couple seasons, with the rehab not fully healing the injury. It was an injury which required surgery, but Jarvis didn’t want to undergo the treatment last summer at the risk of missing too much time to be considered for the Olympics.
Ironically, injuries nearly kept Jarvis out of the Olympics anyways, as he missed 11 games last season, including eight to a rib injury which occurred around the selection time for Canada’s Olympic roster. However, an injury to Brayden Point opened the door for Jarvis to get a spot on the roster. He played five games for Canada, registering an assist on route to their silver-medal “win”.
Jarvis’ injury did slowly wear on him throughout the season. While he played well in the regular season with 32 goals and 34 assists for 66 points in 71 games, his play slipped in the playoffs with only four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 19 games.
Robinson’s surgery was to take care of a knee injury, although it’s unknown as to when he sustained the injury. He missed 15 games this season, but all were due to upper-body injuries. Robinson’s recovery timeline is only six-to-eight weeks, meaning he should be in good form to return for training camp, even if his offseason training will be impacted by it.
Robinson wasn’t quite as productive for the Canes as his first season in Carolina, but was still solid with 12 goals and six assists for 18 points in 67 games in the regular season, along with three goals and five assists for eight points in 19 playoff games.
