Hellebuyck made 28 saves on 30 shots en route to a 4-2 victory over the Stars on Sunday. His play has been incredibly consistent of late, allowing two goals or less in six of his last seven starts. He draws a challenging home matchup tonight against the Stars.

Fleury was a healthy scratch for the last two games but he will replace Klas Dahlbeck in the second game of a back-to-back tonight vs. the Bruins. Fleury, who put up decent offensive numbers in the WHL and AHL certainly hasn’t done so at the NHL level yet. In his first 54 career games (all this season) the 21-year-old has just six assists.

Scheifele will miss his third and fourth consecutive games as he’s been ruled out for the remainder of the Jets’ road-trip. Scheifele was on the ice with a no-contact sweater on Monday, which suggests he could be ready when the Jets return home vs. Chicago on Thursday.

This afternoon he will set a new career-high in games started in a season (54) and it will be his second start vs. the Flyers—he stopped 30 of 32 shots in a 3-2 shootout win in his first start against Philadelphia.

Scheifele was hurt in New York on Tuesday and will not play tonight vs. the Devils. Scheifele’s injury will force the Jets to shuffle their lines, but Blake Wheeler will stay on the wing this time.

Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 35 shots in the Jets win in Carolina on Saturday. Steve Mason gave him the night off on Tuesday, so Hellebuyck will return to the crease tonight in New Jersey. Hellebuyck stopped 34 of 36 shots in a 5-2 win in his first start vs. the Devils in mid-November.

Scheifele was hurt in a collision with teammate Blake Wheeler in the first period and stiffened up on the bench. The Jets are locked into a playoff spot so they don’t need to risk Scheifele suffering further injury. Their No.1 centre will be re-evaluated on Wednesday and he should be considered questionable heading into Thursday’s game in New Jersey.
