Thatcher Demko was the first goalie off the ice Friday morning.

Demko allowed three goals on 32 shots (.906 SV%) as he picked up his fourth straight loss his last time out vs. Boston. The 26-year-old has been terrible this season, posting a 1-8-2 record with a 4.02 GAA and .877 SV%. He takes on the surging Los Angeles Kings who have won five of their last six games.

Pierre-Olivier Joseph will be a game-time decision Tuesday (lower-body)

Joseph has not played in the last two games for Pittsburgh after leaving their game last week vs. Washinton due to a lower-body injury after playing just 6:41 TOI. He is a game-time decision Tuesday and will make a welcome addition to the lineup as he has four assists through 12 games with a +5 plus/minus rating and six PIMs while averaging 14:09 ATOI.

Kevin Lankinen will start Thursday vs. the Avalanche.

Lankinen stopped all 13 of 13 shots in relief his last time between the pipes as he filled in after Jusse Saaros was pulled vs. Seattle after four goals on six shots. The Predators' backup has been great this season, with a 2-1-0 record along with his .940 SV% and 1.91 GAA. Lankinen will take on an Avalanche team that is coming off back-to-back wins over Columbus in Finland and ranks eighth in the NHL in GF/GP with 3.55 per game.

Evander Kane has been placed on long-term injured reserve and will miss 3 to 4 months.

Kane will miss 3 to 4 months after cutting his wrist on a skate in the Oilers' win over Tampa Bay Tuesday. The 31-year-old had been enjoying a strong start to the season with five goals and 13 points through his first 14 games played along with a +4 plus/minus.

Demko took the shootout loss his last time out, allowing three goals on 30 shots (.900 SV%) in a 4-3 dropped game to Nashville. He has struggled mightily this season, amassing an ugly 1-6-2 rating with a 3.90 GAA and .879 SV%. He faces off against Montreal who snapped a three-game losing streak Tuesday with a shootout win over Detroit, 3-2 the night before.

Demko won his first start of the season stopping 32 of 36 shots (.889 SV%) his last time out vs. Seattle. The 26-year-old has struggled mightily in the early part of the season, posting a .874 SV% and 4.05 GAA to go along with his 1-5-1 record. He takes on one of the NHL's hottest teams in New Jersey who has won six of their last seven games and is coming off a 7-1 victory their last time out.

The 26-year-old has struggled mightily in the early part of the season, posting a .874 SV% and 4.05 GAA to go along with his 1-5-1 record. He takes on one of the NHL's hottest teams in New Jersey who has won six of their last seven games and is coming off a 7-1 victory their last time out.
