The Oilers did not retain any of Kane's $5.125 cap hit, giving them some much-needed cap space to work with this offseason. Buium was Minnesota's 12th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in this postseason, often quarterbacking the top powerplay unit, scoring one point (0G / 1A) in 4 games. He will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch, being replaced by Jon Merrill.

Kane has spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season recovering from abdominal surgery but will make his return to the lineup in Game 2 on Wednesday. The 33-year-old Kane has spent the previous three seasons with the Oilers, tallying 111 points (62G / 49A) in 161 games. Jeff Skinner will exit the lineup to accommodate Kane's return.

The 25-year-old Tolopilo, making his NHL debut on Monday, has a 2.68 GAA and .901 SV% in 34 games (18-14-2) with Abbotsford this season. Vancouver enters Monday's contest as -307 home favorites against a San Jose Sharks team amid a nine-game losing skid (0-7-2).

Schuldt made his season debut for the Sharks last month, playing six games, before being reassigned to the AHL. The 29-year-old Schuldt has 21 points (6G / 15A) in 62 games with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) this season.

Kudryavtsev was a seventh-round pick, 208th overall, of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old defenseman been solid in the AHL, his first professional season, scoring 26 points (5G / 21A) in 63 games with the Abbotsford Canucks.
