Marino will be sidelined indefinitely with a broken cheek that he suffered while taking a Steven Stamkos shot in the face on Thursday night. Marino filled in admirably when the Penguins were banged up and turned himself into a reliable top-4 defenseman this season, so this is a huge loss for the Penguins.

Weegar missed Thursday's game with an illness and is listed as day-to-day heading into Saturday's game. Josh Brown will remain in the lineup tomorrow if Weegar can't go.

With Eric Robinson out with an undisclosed injury, Stenlund returns to the Blue Jackets and will likely be in the lineup on Friday. Stenlund has scored four goals with two assists (six points) in 17 games with the Blue Jackets this season.

Weegar has been out since December 23rd but will play tonight in Columbus. Weegar has scored three goals with nine assists (12 points) in 28 games this season while averaging 1.6 shots and 1.4 blocked shots per game.

Vanecek, who is 13-9-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .908 SV% in the AHL this season, may serve as Braden Holtby's backup vs. the Kings. Ilya Samsonov was forced to leave the Capitals morning skate after taking an Alex Ovechkin shot up high and is going through concussion protocol. If he's not 100 percent, Vanecek will be the backup.

Agozzino suited up in the Penguins' last eight games before the All-Star break, posting one assist in 6:59 ATOI. He returned to the AHL over the break and has 33 points (14G / 19A) in 37 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.

With Oliver Bjorkstrand set to return from injury on Sunday, Stenlund heads back to the AHL to clear a roster spot. Stenlund had a solid showing in his second career NHL stint, scoring four goals with two assists (six points) in 17 games. He has also picked up 16 points (6G / 10A) in 27 AHL games this year.

Rooney sat our of Thursday's game in Washington but will replace Michael McLeod in the lineup on Saturday. Rooney has just one goal and one assist in 27 games this season.


Rooney missed the Devils morning skate due to an illness and will be a game-time decision in Washington. If Rooney can't play, look for the Devils to dress seven defensemen.

Hayton was hurt in the World Juniors semi-finals and played through the injury to lead Canada to a gold medal. Hayton re-joined the Coyotes on Wednesday but is expected to miss multiple weeks with a shoulder injury.

Hayton served as captain for Team Canada, who won the gold medal at the World Juniors. Hayton finished seven in tournament scoring, scoring six goals with six assists (12 points) in seven games. He has posted four points (1G / 3A) in 14 NHL games this season.

Agozzino takes the place of Thomas Di Pauli, who played in his first two NHL games last week. Agozzino has been Wilkes-Barre/Scranton best offensive weapon this season, scoring a team-leading 14 goals and 31 points in 35 games.

Rooney was in the lineup vs. the Maple Leafs on Friday, playing 10:17 TOI, but will be a scratch tonight with Pavel Zacha returning from a lower-body issue.


Weegar was on the ice for Friday's practice but missed Saturday's morning skate and head coach Joel Quenneville called him "day-to-day." This is a tough break for the Panthers, who were already without Aaron Ekblad for the weekend.

Columbus lost Sonny Milano and Josh Anderson to upper-body injuries on Saturday, so Stenlund and Marko Dano have been recalled and will likely play on Monday. Stenlund has spent the entire season with Cleveland so far, scoring six goals with 10 assists (16 points) in 27 games.


Kerfoot was suspended forces hit on Erik Johnson last Saturday but will replace Jason Spezza on the third line on Saturday. Kerfoot has be relatively quiet offensively for Toronto, scoring five goals with three assists (eight points) in 22 games this season.
