Roslovic will make his Blue Jackets debut on Thursday.

Roslovic did not have to go through the same visa issues as Patrik Laine or the same quarantine, since he never reported to Winnipeg. Roslovic, who had 29 points (12G / 17A) in 71 games last season, will centre a line with Cam Atkinson and Boone Jenner in his debut.

The Blue Jackets have signed Jack Roslovic to a two-year contract worth $1.9M AAV.

Accompanying his trade back to his hometown is a fresh two-year deal for the previously unsigned RFA. Roslovic will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine following this trade but should make his Blue Jackets debut sometime in early-February.

The Blue Jackets have acquired Jack Roslovic and Patrik Laine from the Jets for Pierre-Luc Dubois and a third-round pick.

Roslovic was an unsigned RFA who had made it clear he didn't want to be in Winnipeg anymore. This deal couldn't have been better for the 23-year-old, who is a native of Columbus, Ohio. The 2015 first-round pick (No.25 overall) registered 67 points (26G / 41A) in 180 career NHL games wth the Jets.

Matthews is day-to-day with an upper-body injury; will not play on Friday.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe is "not too concerned" with Matthews' upper-body injury. He told reporters Matthews was a possibility to play tonight but just wasn't feeling completely right, so they'll be cautious early in the season. With Matthews and Joe Thornton both out, the Maple Leafs will be without ⅔ of their top-line vs. the Oilers. Adam Brooks is expected to draw in to replace Matthews in some capacity.

Myers suffered the injury on a hit from Jake McCabe, who also dislocated Morgan Frost's left shoulder in the same game. With Myers listed as week-to-week, he'll likely miss at least two weeks and Mark Friedman is expected to draw into the lineup for him on Thursday.
