Pezzetta will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.
Pezzetta has skated in nine straight games for the Canadiens but will be scratched on Saturday with Chris Wideman dressing as a seventh defenseman.
The Ducks have sent Benoit-Olivier Groulx to San Diego (AHL).
Groulx has been a healthy scratch for the last three games, so he'll go to San Diego to get playing time. The 21-year-old centre had 10 goals and 19 assists (29 points) in 42 games last year.

Woll will make his first career start on Saturday.
Tavares (lower-body) is expected to play Friday vs. the Flames.
Tavares missed Wednesday's game in Philadelphia but was on the ice for Friday's morning skate and is expected to play vs. Calgary. Tavares is riding a six-game point streak, scoring six goals with four assists (10 points) over that span.
Stecher (undisclosed) will be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks.
The Red Wings provided a more clear timeline for Stecher but still have not disclosed the nature of his injury. With Stecher out, Gustav Lindstrom should continue to skate with Marc Staal moving forward.
The Blues recalled Dakota Joshua from Springfield (AHL).
With Jake Neighbours being sent to the WHL on Wednesday, Joshua comes up to take his spot on the roster. Joshua has not registered a point in three games with the Blues this season but has four points (1G / 3A) in seven AHL games.
Tavares (undisclosed) is not on the ice for warmups; will not play in Philadelphia.
Tavares (undisclosed) will travel to Philadelphia but will be a game-time decision on Wednesday.
Stecher will see a specialist for an undisclosed injury.
Stecher will miss his third straight game on Tuesday and could miss an extended period of time. There's no indication of what is ailing Stecher but expect an update after he sees a specialist.

Domi was added to the COVID-19 protocol list on Monday and is not expected to be available for Wednesday's game in Colorado. Like when he missed time with a rib injury, look for Yegor Chinakhov to replace him in the lineup.
The Canadiens have recalled Michael Pezzetta from Laval (AHL).
Pezzetta was a sixth-round pick of the Canadiens in 2016. He has played 115 AHL games since then and could make his NHL debut this week after replacing Cole Caufield on the NHL roster. Pezzetta has three goals and three assists (six points) in eight games with Laval this season.
Domi (ribs) will draw back into the Blue Jackets lineup on Friday.
Domi has missed the last four games but will replace Yegor Chinakhov in the lineup on Friday. Domi will skate on the third line and second PP unit in New York.
The Maple Leafs have signed Morgan Rielly to an eight-year contract extension worth $60.0 million ($7.5M AAV).
Rielly was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season but the extension now carries him through the 2029-30 NHL season. It's been a tough start to the season for Rielly, who is 30th among defensemen in points (66) since the start of the 2019-20 season.
