Stolarz will start vs. Vegas on Friday.

Stolarz has been sidelined since November 11th and will return to the crease on Friday against the Vegas Golden Knights, just days after being sent on a conditioning stint with the Toronto Marlies (AHL). The 32-year-old Stolarz was set to be a big part of Toronto's crease this season after having a tremendous 2024-25 campaign, posting a 2.14 GAA and .926 SV% in 34 games (21-8-3). That said, he had an awful start to the 2025-26 season, with a 3.51 GAA and .884 SV% in 13 games (6-5-1), and hopes to return to form after his prolonged absence.

Ekman-Larsson suffered a lower-body injury early in the first period of Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings and did not return. The 34-year-old blue-liner has played every game this season and will keep that streak intact, drawing into the lineup on Friday against the Vegas Golden Knights. He has eight goals and 23 assists in 50 games.

Thrun will likely serve as insurance for Thursday's game with both Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Brandon Carlo nicked up. Nylander aggravated his lower-body injury early in Thursday's loss in Vegas. Nylander was able to tally a goal and an assist before leaving the game, and had three goals and four assists in four games after returning to the lineup last Saturday. The Maple Leafs are desperately going to miss his production Saturday in Winnipeg and possibly Monday vs. the Wild.

Stolarz has been out since November 11th, but is getting close to a return to the Maple Leafs crease and has a chance to return before the Olympic break according to Head Coach Craig Berube. Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby have performed well in his absence, but the team will likely send Hildeby back to the Marlies (AHL) when Stolarz is cleared to play. Stolarz said the he likely needs a "couple more practices" before he is ready to play.
