The 28-year-old had been filling in admirably while Toronto dealt with its vast array of injuries; with his six goals, seven points and 52 SOG in 21 games played this season. Expect updates on the extent of McMann's injury on Thursday.

Mermis has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on a LTIR conditioning loan.
Mermis signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Maple Leafs in the offseason but has not played yet in the 2024-25 season due to an upper-body injury. The 30-year-old underwent successful jaw surgery at the end of September. In 47 games with Minnesota in 2023-24, he had three goals, eight points and 33 PIMs.

Knies (upper-body) has been placed on IR retroactive to November 20th.
Knies left Toronto's game vs. Vegas on Wednesday with an upper-body injury and will remain out on Sunday as the Maple Leafs host Utah. The 22-year-old winger has not been provided a timetable to return but is apparently improving day-by-day and is not expected to be out for long. His presence will be missed throughout the lineup after he started the year with eight goals, 12 points and 36 SOG in 20 games played before the injury.
