Carlson took part in Tuesday’s practice and has been upgraded to “possible” for Wednesday’s game. Monitor his status during the Capitals morning skate.

Girgensons missed the last four games but will return to the lineup on Monday vs. the Rangers. Girgensons, who has just three goals and five assists in 40 games this season, will skate on the second line with Jack Eichel and Matt Moulson.

Carlson practiced again on Thursday, but he remains doubtful for Friday’s contest. Monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate, but it doesn’t look like he will be in the lineup.

Carlson traveled to Columbus with the team, but will sit out for the 12th consecutive game. With Carlson out and Aaron Ness back in Hershey (AHL), Ryan Stanton will play on Tuesday.

Vasilevskiy gave up four goals on 40 shots in the Lightning’s win over the Penguins on Friday. Vasilevskiy has won his last four starts while posting a 2.85 GAA and .909 SV% and will make his 11th start tonight vs. the Oilers. Vasilevskiy has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.93 GAA and .908 SV% on home ice this season.

Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 23 shots in the Lightning’s win in Vancouver last Saturday. Vasilevskiy has won three straight games while posting a 2.52 GAA and .913 SV%. He hasn’t had a lot of work this season, but he has played OK when called upon. Tonight he takes on a Penguins team that has lost three of four.

Carlson will miss his eighth consecutive game with a lower-body injury, but he is not expected to be out much longer. Look for Carlson to be back in the lineup next week—his first chance will come on Thursday when the Capitals take on the Canucks.

Vasilevskiy made 30 saves on 32 shots in the Lightning’s win over the Wild last Saturday. With Ben Bishop starting last night, Vasilevskiy will start tonight in Vancouver. Overall, Vasilevskiy is 4-4-0 with a 2.78 GAA and .911 SV% on the season, including 3-3-0 with a 2.90 GAA and .910 SV% on the road.

Carlson was always considered doubtful for today’s matinee but now he has officially been ruled out of his seventh consecutive game. He remains questionable for Sunday’s contest. The Capitals will not have a morning skate, so we won’t know Carlson’s status until head coach Barry Trotz meets with the media.

Carlson has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury and is expected to miss both games this weekend. It sounds like he defiantly will not play on Saturday, but Sunday remains a possibility.

Carlson will miss his sixth straight game with a lower-body injury on Thursday. Carlson’s movement to IR is retroactive, so he will be able to return to the lineup whenever he is healthy. They put him on IR to create a roster spot to officially sign Mike Richards.

Carlson will travel with the team on their road trip, but will not play tomorrow against the Bruins. Carlson skated this morning which is a great sign, so look for him to join the team later in the week and monitor his status prior to Thursday’s contest.

Carlson has missed the last four games, but skated in sweat pants prior to practice on Monday. His absence for practice and his lack of pads suggests that he isn’t close to returning and won’t play on Tuesday vs. the Bruins.

With Ben Bishop battling an undisclosed injury, Vasilevskiy will start his first game since December 15th. He was with Syracuse (AHL) as of yesterday, but is back up and will face the Wild tonight. Vasilevskiy is 3-4-0 with a 2.94 GAA and .907 SV% this season and takes on a Wild team that has won three of their last four.
