Binnington is in the starter's crease at St. Louis' morning skate.

Despite being outplayed by Joel Hofer early in the 2024-25 season, the Blues will likely turn to Binnington between the pipes for the fourth time this season. The 31-year-old Binnington has a 3.02 GAA and .895 SV% in three games this season (1-2-0). The Blues enter action on Tuesday as +133 home underdogs against their division rivals, the Winnipeg Jets, the hottest team in the league to start the season and the only team yet to suffer a loss (5-0-0).

Neighbours has signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract extension ($3,750,000 AAV).

Neighbours was drafted 26th overall by the Blues in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and become a full-time NHLer last season. The 22-year-old Neighbours has three points (2G / 1A) in six games to start the 2024-25 campaign, and was tied for second on the Blues last season with 27 goals in 77 games.

Gauthier has cleared waivers and been assigned to Bridgeport (AHL).

After clearing waivers on Monday afternoon, Gauthier will report to the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL, where he had 10 points (7G / 3A) in 17 games last season. The 27-year-old Gauthier was held off the scoresheet in his only game this season and has 41 points (19G / 22A) in 181 career NHL games.

The Avalanche have placed Jonathan Drouin (upper-body) on IR.

Drouin has been placed on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Colorado's 8-4 opening night loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on October 9th when he suffered an upper-body injury. Ross Colton has been the main beneficiary in Drouin's absence, finding himself on a dangerous top powerplay unit.

Hofer will start on Thursday vs. the Islanders.

The Blues have lost two straight, being outscored 8-4, and will turn to Hofer between the pipes for the second time this season. The 24-year-old Hofer salvaged a 5-4 victory in his only outing this season but allowing four goals on 29 shots (.862 SV%). That said, the young netminder had a solid 2023-24 campaign, posting a 2.65 GAA and .913 SV% in 30 appearances (15-12-1). The Blues enter action on Thursday as +127 home underdogs against a New York Islanders club with a 1-1-1 record.

Sundqvist (ACL) has been cleared for contact and is likely to return soon.

Sundqvist underwent surgery for a torn ACL towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign and, after a long recovery, has finally been cleared for contact. The 30-year-old veteran enjoyed an average first season in St. Louis as far as personal production, with his six goals, 21 points, 68 SOG and 32 PIMs in 71 games played before the injury.

Holl has been reassigned to Grand Rapids (AHL).

After a brief two-game appearance, Justin Holl has been reassigned to Grand Rapids (AHL) after picking up an assist and two PIMs with the Red Wings. The 32-year-old defensemen will return to Grand Rapids likely as a paper move and is expected to return to Detroit for their game on Thursday. If he does appear in a game for Grand Rapids, it will be his first AHL experience since 2017-18.

Binnington will start on Tuesday vs. Minnesota.

Binnington has played two of three games for the Blues thus far and will return to the crease for Tuesday's matchup against the Minnesota Wild. The 31-year-old Binnington had difficulty in his previous outing, allowing four goals on 28 shots (.857 SVV%) in a 4-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. That said, Binnington is sporting a 1-1-0 record early in the season and his Blues are slight -109 home favourites against the Wild.

Holl is expected to draw into the Red Wings lineup on Saturday.

Holl was recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) this morning and is expected to make his season debut in place of Erik Gustafsson (healthy scratch). Holl played in just 38 games a season ago, tallying eight assists, 14 SOG and 59 hits.
