New Jersey has acquired Thomas Bordeleau from San Jose for Shane Bowers.

In a trade that swaps two high-end draft picks that have been unable to establish themselves at the NHL level, Bordeleau heads to New Jersey for a change of scenery. The 23-year-old Bordeleau played 59 games with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) last season, scoring 38 points (14G / 24A).

Washington has signed Calle Rosen to a one-year, two-way contract.

Washington added to its defensive depth on Day 2 of Free Agency by signing six-year NHL veteran Calle Rosen to a one-year, two-way contract. The 31-year-old Swedish defenseman spent 2024-25 with the Colorado Eagles (AHL), where he had 10 goals and 34 points in 62 games played. He is expected to report to Hershey (AHL) for the start of the 2025-26 season.

New York has signed Jonathan Drouin to a two-year, $8 million contract ($4 million AAV).

After falling out of favour with the Montreal Canadiens, Drouin took an opportunity with the Colorado Avalanche to rediscover his scoring prowess alongside Nathan MacKinnon and did just that. In 122 games with Colorado over the previous two seasons, Drouin scored an impressive 93 points (30G / 63A) after playing on back-to-back team-friendly one-year deals with the team. He joins the New York Islanders on a two-year $8 million contract.

The Blues have acquired Logan Mailloux from the Canadiens for Zack Bolduc.

St. Louis and Montreal completed a one-for-one prospect swap on Tuesday after moving forward Zack Bolduc for defensemen Logan Mailloux. The 22-year-old Mailloux was Montreal's 2021 1st round pick (31st overall) but only appeared in seven games in 2024-25, still managing to pick up two goals and four points. He is expected to compete for one of St. Louis' final defensive spots to start the 2025-26 season.

The 27-year-old right-winger will provide some offensive depth after putting up three goals and eight points in nine games with Bridgeport (AHL) last season.

The Blues don't expect Torey Krug (ankle) to play again.

Krug is dealing with a pre-arthritic condition in his left ankle and Blues' GM Doug Armstrong doesn't expect him to play in the NHL again. He didn't completely shut the door on a Krug return, but it doesn't sound likely. If we've in fact seen the last of Krug, he finishes his career with 483 points (89G / 394A) in 778 career games with the Bruins and Blues.
