Nate Thompson has been suspended three games for his hit on Justin Faulk.
Thompson (shoulder) is expected to make his season debut on Wednesday.
Thompson has missed the start of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery in June. Thompson is expected to slot in on the Ducks’ fourth line against his former team. With Thompson back in the lineup, Patrick Maroon will likely be the healthy scratch.

The Panthers have sent Garrett Wilson to Portland (AHL).
Wilson has served as a healthy scratch in four of the last five games, so he has been sent back to Portland and Logan Shaw has been called up.
Couturier (concussion) is expected to play Thursday in Calgary.

Wilson, 24, has four assists in seven games with Portland this season. With his recall, the 24-year-old could be making his Panthers’ season debut on Wednesday. Wilson has no points in five career NHL games.
Couturier (concussion) remains day-to-day; questionable for Thursday’s game.
Couturier has missed the last two games with a concussion and could miss his third straight contest on Thursday. Monitor Couturier’s status heading into the weekend.

Couturier may have suffered a concussion, which could keep him out of Saturday’s game vs. the Rangers. Monitor his status leading up to that contest.
Glendening (lower-body) will play on Friday vs. Carolina.
Glendening was listed as questionable for tonight’s game after dealing with a lower-body injury after Tuesday’s win. He was on the ice for the Red Wings’ morning skate and will be in the lineup tonight vs. Carolina.

Glendening was injured while blocking a shot in Tuesday’s win over the Lightning. Monitor his status during Friday’s morning skate, but if he can’t play, then Joakim Andersson will replace him in the lineup.
Ristolainen (upper-body) cleared to make his preseason debut on Tuesday.
Ristolainen missed the start of camp because of an upper-body injury, but participated in practice on Monday and will play on Tuesday. The 20-year-old blueliner had 20 points (8G / 12A) in 78 games with the Sabres last year. He will be a key member of Buffalo’s backend this season and for many years to come.
The Canadiens have selected Noah Juulsen with the 26th overall pick.
The Flyers have selected Travis Konecny with the 24th overall pick.
Thompson (upper-body) will return to the lineup in Game 1.
