Varlamov will start on Thursday vs. St. Louis.

Varlamov has only played once in the last six games but will return to the crease for the Islanders on Thursday night. After a terrific start to the season, Varlamov has struggled lately, failing to record a victory in seven straight outings (0-3-2), and has allowed three or more goals in three straight (0-2-1) while posting a .882 SV%. That said, the Islanders are coming off a 5-4 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins and are slight -114 road favourites entering action against the St. Louis Blues.

Vanecek (lower body) has been placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to Feb 10th, 2024.

Vanecek was excellent in a losing effort in his last outing, allowing one goal on 32 shots (.969 SV%) in a 1-0 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes but was surprisingly sidelined after with a lower-body injury. Nico Daws has started each game in Vanecek's absence and has done an admirable job filling in between the pipes.
