Varlamov stopped 29 of 31 shots in the Avs win over the Flames last Saturday. Colorado has had a ton of time off so they enter Arizona very well rested. Varlamov has won five straight starts while posting a 1.00 GAA, .968 SV% and one shutout. He has a great matchup against a Coyotes team who have lost five in a row while scoring just four goals.
Palat has missed the last three games, but he could be back on Friday against the Red Wings. Palat has had a fantastic season, so his return would certainly help the Lightning’s top-6.

Palat injured his foot while blocking a shot on a Tuesday. He was force to leave that game, now he will be forced to miss the next 2-3 weeks. Expect him to miss at least the next six games. This could open the door for Jonathan Drouin to play a top-6 role.
Palat took a shot off of the foot and was forced to leave yesterday’s win over the Canadiens. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said the X-rays “looked okay” but Palat will be reevaluated. Monitor his status leading up to Thursday’s game in Boston.
Varlamov was injured late in Sunday’s win and will miss at least tonight’s game. Varlamov missed six games with a groin injury earlier in the year, but there is no word on how long he will be out this time around. The Avalanche announced that he might be ready for Thursday, but consider him day-to-day for now.
