Varlamov allowed two goals on 41 shots in a 3-2 win over Dallas on Tuesday. The win moved him to 5-0 with a 1.20 GAA and .965 SV%. He will look to keep the Avalanche undefeated tonight against the Red Wings.

Varlamov has started four games and allowed one goal in each start. He is 4-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .970 SV%, he will try to continue to shock the fantasy world tomorrow against the Stars. Dallas is forced to start their second or third goalie, so Varly has a good chance to start 5-0.
Kyle Palmieri (upper body) is expected to return to the Ducks lineup on Sunday.
Palmieri was sidelined for Thursday's game but will be back when Anaheim takes on Ottawa. He has yet to record a point in three games.
Clutterbuck (leg) will make his Islanders debut tonight.
Clutterbuck recovered way ahead of schedule and will be on the ice tonight. He was practicing on the Islanders third line throughout the week, but with Matt Moulson questionable tonight, he could skate alongside former OHL teammate John Tavares.

Varlamov will start tomorrow after getting the night off on Thursday. He He has allowed one goal in all three games and sits a 3-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .967 SV%. It will be his first start against the Capitals after playing in Washington from 2008-11. It would be tough to bench Varlamov after his start, but Alex Ovechkin and the Caps pose some problems.
Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau said after practice today that Palmieri (lower-body) will miss tomorrow's game.
Palmieri was injured on Sunday and will be replaced by Emerson Etem tomorrow. The Ducks next contest is not until Sunday, so consider him questionable for the matchup with the Senators.
Sounds like Clutterbuck will be back for Friday against Chicago.
Clutterbuck has not appeared in a game this season, because of a leg injury.
Palmieri missed Ducks practice this morning.
Palmieri left Sunday's game against the Jets and did not return. He has no points and eight shots in the Ducks first three games.

Clutterbuck who has been practicing lately is nearing a return, but is not quite ready. He could be back on Friday vs. the Blackhawks.

Varlamov has had a great start to the season. He has gotten off to a 2-0 start with a 1.00 GAA and .968 SV%. He will go up against the 3-0 Maple Leafs who have scored 3.67 goals per game so far.
Islanders head coach Jack Capuano said Cal Clutterbuck (leg laceration) could be ready to play by Tuesday's game against the Coyotes. The Islanders will make a determination after Monday's practice.
Clutterbuck was originally expected to miss close to a month, but apparently he is only going to have missed the Isles first two games. Even if he does not play on Tuesday expect him to be back in the lineup Friday vs. Chicago.

Varlamov was outstanding versus the Ducks in the Avs season opener. He allowed just one goal on 36 shots in Colorado's 6-1 rout. He will face a Predators team who saw Pekka Rinne get chased in the first period last night.
Cal Clutterbuck (leg) is skating for the second day in a row.
Clutterbuck is still a few weeks away from returning, but this is a positive sign for the Islanders.
Cal Clutterbuck returned to practice today, for the first time since he suffered a leg laceration back in early September.
The off-season acquisition practiced on a line with Casey Cizikas and Peter Regin. Clutterbuck was wearing a non-contact jersey during the skate. On Saturday, the former Minnesota Wild winger was put on injured reserve retroactive to September 17.

Cal Clutterbuck will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a leg laceration.
All we knew was that Clutterbuck was going to "miss some time", now the 4 to 6 week recovery period could have him missing the first 10 games of the season. Clutterbuck could potentially see time on a line with Jonathan Tavares this season. The two were line mates when they played for the Oshawa Generals. Playing with Tavares would make Clutterbuck's fantasy value way higher than it has ever been, so monitor his situation after he has recovered from the injury.

Clutterbuck arrived to New York as a restricted free agent, the return for Nino Niederreiter in a trade this summer and then signed a four-year, $11 million deal. There's no real clear indication of how much time is an "extended" amount but it doesn't give the impression that Clutterbuck is going to be back by the start of the season in two weeks but you never know.
