Clutterbuck played just 5:48 TOI before retiring to the dressing room for the night. Coach Capuano called Clutterbuck day-to-day and said that he will be evaluated on Wednesday.

Goalie Start
As expected, Varlamov will start on Thursday.
Varlamov stopped 23 of 25 shots in a win over the Devils in his last start back on November 15th. The Avs went 3-3-0 in the six games that Varly missed, but he will be back between the pipes tonight in Calgary. He is 4-5-4 with a 2.95 GAA and .918 SV% this season, but the Avs are playing better of late, making him an interesting buy-low candidate.
Varlamov (groin) is expected to play on Thursday vs. the Flames.
Varlamov will miss his sixth straight game when Calvin Pickard gets the start on Monday, but Varly is expected to return later in the week vs. Calgary.

There was some speculation that he might be available for Team Canada in the World Juniors this December, but that won’t be the case. Horvat has looked like he has belonged and picked up one goal and three assists in his last two games.

Semyon Varlamov will look to secure his 4th win of the season against the Devils. To this point, Varlamov is sporting a .918 save% and a 3.03 GAA in 12 games played.
Previously a gametime decision, Palat says he will play vs. Islanders.
Follow the situation closely if you're relying on Palat but it appears he will play.

Varlamov allowed six goals on 46 shots in the Avs' loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. It was a rough outing for Varly but Patrick Roy will give him a chance to bounce back right away on Thursday vs. the Rangers. He has a 3.05 GAA and .918 SV% in 11 games this season.
Palmieri (ankle) could be back in the Ducks lineup on Wednesday.
Palmieri, who has not played this season because of a high-ankle sprain, was in practice on Tuesday and took part in line rushes with William Karlsson and Andrew Cogliano, which is a good sign that he will make his season debut tomorrow.

Varlamov allowed five goals on 37 shots in the Colorado’s 5-2 loss to the Canucks last Tuesday. Varly was given Thursday off after starting the seven previous games and ended up sitting for two in a row because Reto Berra was rewarded an extra start after playing well vs. Toronto. Varlamov gets back between the pipes with a 2-4-4 record, 2.75 GAA and .925 SV%.

Bo Horvat will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.
Horvat had a solid NHL debut on Tuesday, recording a plus-1 rating with one shot and one blocked shot in 8:52 of ice time. With Alex Burrows returning to the lineup tonight, Horvat will be the one who sits.
Palmieri (ankle) might play in “two weeks or so,” said coach Boudreau.
Palmieri has not played this season because of a high ankle sprain, but returned to practice this afternoon. According to Boudreau, he is not expected to be back until mid-November.
