Rittich allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Flames win in Carolina on Sunday. Rittich is riding a three-game winning streak, stopping 89 of 96 shots (.927 SV%) in the process. The 26-year-old walked away with the ‘W’ in his first game vs. the Sharks, despite allowing five goals on 33 shots.

Varlamov allowed five goals on 26 shots in Colorado’s win over the Canucks on Saturday. Philipp Grubauer started on Tuesday, so the Avalanche will come back to Varlamov tonight in Washington. Varlamov’s last 10 starts have been rough—he is 2-6-2 with a 3.14 GAA and .877 SV% over that span.


DeAngelo has been a healthy scratch for the last two games but will dress as the seventh defenseman on Monday. DeAngelo, who will replace Cody McLeod in the lineup, has 12 points (4G / 8A) in 32 games this season.



Varlamov allowed three goals on 26 shots in Colorado’s loss to Nashville on January 21st. Varlamov went 2-4-0 with a 2.89 GAA and .888 SV% in six starts in January. He hasn’t faced the Canucks this season but has been solid at the Pepsi Center—going 6-4-4 with a 2.61 GAA and .913 SV% in 15 starts.

Varlamov stopped 30 of 31 shots in Colorado’s win over the Kings on Saturday. After a five-game losing streak, Varlamov has now won two of the last three while stopping 73 of 81 shots (.901 SV%). Today he faces the Predators for the third time this season—he is 1-1-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .930 SV%.



Duclair was a healthy scratch on Friday but will replace Kevin Stenlund on Saturday. Duclair has 10 goals and five assists (15 points) in 40 games this season.

Duclair has been in the lineup for 14 consecutive games but has just two goals and one assist during that time. With Brandon Dubinsky (hamstring) set to return to the lineup on Friday, Duclair looks like the healthy scratch.

The win snapped an ugly five-game losing streak for Varlamov and moved him into a tie for 29th in wins (12) on the year. He draws a stellar matchup in Ottawa but is 7-7-1 with a 2.93 GAA, .905 SV% and one shutout on the road this year.
