Allen stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Blues shutout win over the Lightning on Tuesday. Allen had allowed three goals in each of his first three starts, but shut the door on Tampa Bay to earn his fist shutout of the year. He earned a second straight start and draws a good matchup vs. the struggling Ducks.

Markstrom tweaked a lower-body injury in Tuesday’s practice and is unable to suit up as Ryan Miller’s backup tonight. Markstrom will be evaluated later today to determine the severity of the injury and how much time he will miss. Richard Bachman has been recalled to serve as the backup.

He enjoyed a breakout season in 2014-15, registering 42 points (10G / 32A) in 72 contests. He joins Mark Giordano, T.J Brodie and Kris Russell to form a very strong top-4 on the Flames back-end.

Noesen, 22, was held off of the scoresheet in his NHL debut on April 3rd. In 27 games with Norfolk he had seven goals and nine assists (16 points).

It was a good enough outing for Ken Hitchcock to go back to Allen in game 2 this afternoon. Allen will try to backstop the Blues to a win so they can head to Minnesota with the series tied up at 1-1.
