Montembeault will start vs. Tampa Bay on Tuesday.

The Canadiens have points in seven of their last eight games (6-1-1), with their only regulation loss coming in Montembeault's most recent outing, a challenging performance where he allowed six goals on 33 shots (.818 SV%) in a 7-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 28-year-old netminder has had an up-and-down 2024-25 campaign, posting a 2.98 GAA and .897 SV% in 35 games this season (16-16-3). The Canadiens enter Tuesday's contest as +122 home underdogs against a Tampa Bay Lightning team coming off a 5-3 loss to the Maple Leafs last night.

Bolduc is expected to be a healthy scratch on Monday in Vegas.

Brandon Saad will draw back into the Blues' lineup on Monday against the Vegas Golden Knights, sending Bolduc to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 21-year-old Bolduc is averaging 12:12 time-on-ice and has 15 points (5G / 10A) in 39 games this season.

Dobes will start in Dallas on Thursday.

Samuel Montembeault was excellent in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Dallas Stars five days ago, but the Canadiens will hope for a better fate with Dobes between the pipes in a rematch on Thursday. The 23-year-old Dobes has been tremendous in limited action this season, posting a 0.97 GAA and .959 SV% in three contests (3-0-0). The Canadiens enter the action on Thursday as +190 road underdogs against a Stars club coming off an impressive 4-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Newhook (illness) will play in Utah on Tuesday after originally being a game-time decision.

After an impressive first season with Montreal in 2023-24, scoring 34 points (15G / 19A) in 55 games, Newhook has only scored nine points (7G / 2A) in 42 games this season. Newhook is expected to play on Montreal's second line with Patrik Laine and Kirby Dach.

The Canadiens have points in four straight (3-0-1) and will roll with Montembeault between the pipes on Tuesday against the Utah Hockey Club. Montembeault was excellent in his most recent outing, saving 34 of 35 shots (.971 SV%) in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Dallas Stars. The 28-year-old goalie has a 2.88 GAA and .901 SV% in 33 games this season (15-15-3). The Canadiens enter Tuesday's contest as +131 road underdogs against Utah HC, losers of eight of their last 10 (2-6-2).

Alexandre Texier and Mathieu Joseph return to the Blues' lineup on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, sending Nathan Walker and Zack Bolduc to the press box as healthy scratches. The 21-year-old Bolduc is averaging 12:20 time-on-ice and has 15 points (5G / 10A) in 37 games this season.

Zack Bolduc and Nathan Walker will be healthy scratches for the Blues on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames, allowing Mathieu Joseph and Alexandre Texier to re-enter the lineup. The 25-year-old Texier is averaging 12:41 time-on-ice and has eight points (3G / 5A) in 23 games this season.

The Canadiens have won five of their last six and will turn to Dobes between the pipes on Friday against the Washington Capitals. The 23-year-old Dobes has been sensational in limited action since being called up from Laval (AHL) late last month, posting an absurd 0.48 GAA and .982 SV% in two games (2-0-0).
