Veleno (illness) is expected to play in San Jose on Thursday after missing practice yesterday.

Veleno made his debut with the Blackhawks on Saturday, after being acquired from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Petr Mrazek and Craig Smith. The 25-year-old Veleno is averaging 11:35 time-on-ice and has zero points through two games with the Blackhawks.

On the tail end of a back-to-back, fresh off a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks last night, the Canadiens will switch to Dobes between the pipes on Wednesday against the Seattle Kraken. The 23-year-old Dobes was impressive in his most recent outing, saving 23 of 24 shots (.958 SV%) in a 1-0 loss to the Calgary Flames. He has a 2.49 GAA and .913 SV% in 11 appearances this season (6-3-1). The Canadiens enter Wednesday's contest as +133 road underdogs against a Kraken team that has lost three of their last four (1-3-0).

The Canadiens have lost two straight (0-1-1) and will hope for a better result on Tuesday, with Montembeault tending the twine against a Vancouver Canucks squad coming off a 4-1 loss to the Dallas Stars. The 28-year-old goalie has been solid lately, posting a 2.08 GAA and .922 SV% in his last six contests (4-1-1). He has a 2.89 GAA, .900 SV%, and four shutouts in 47 appearances this season (22-21-4).
