Spurgeon (upper-body) missed Friday’s practice and is questionable for Saturday’s game.
Spurgeon was hurt in Thursday’s game vs. the Maple Leafs and then missed yesterday’s practice, which puts his status for tonight’s game in jeopardy. If Spurgeon can’t play, look for Mathew Dumba to get back into the lineup.
Hartman (lower-body) will not play on Tuesday.
Hartman will miss a second straight game with a lower-body injury that he suffered last Friday, but he was on the ice this morning and is targeting a return to the lineup on Friday.
Hartman (undisclosed) is out indefinitely.
Hartman cracked the Blackhawks’ opening night roster, but only lasted four periods before getting hurt in Friday’s loss to the Predators. Look for Dennis Rasmussen to be in the lineup on Saturday.
Petry (knee) is expected to play on Saturday.
Petry travelled with the team but didn’t play on Thursday, but he was back at practice on Friday and should be in the lineup on Saturday. Petry was practicing with Andrei Markov and will bump rookie Mikhail Sergachev from the lineup. Petry had 16 points (5G / 11A) in 51 games a season ago.
Petry (knee) will not play in the Canadiens’ season opener on Thursday.
Petry suffered a knee injury in Thursday’s preseason game and will miss the start of the regular season. With Petry out, Mikhail Sergachev will make his NHL debut against the Sabres on Thursday. Petry is listed as day-to-day.
Line Change
Hartman to make Blackhawks out of training camp.
Hartman has the unenviable task of trying to replaced the beloved Andrew Shaw in Chicago. The former first round pick (30th overall in 2013) had 35 points (15G / 20A) in 61 games with Rockford (AHL) last season and one assist in three NHL games. He is expected to make the team and start on a hybrid checking/scoring line with Marcus Kruger and Marian Hossa.
The Capitals signed Marcus Johansson to a three-year deal worth $13.75 ($4.58M AAV).
Johansson, 25, has settled in nicely with the Capitals since they drafted him 24th overall in 2009. He had 46 points (17G / 29A) in 74 games last year, continuing his consistent mid-40’s point production. At just 25, there is room for him to grow into a mid-50’s player, especially in an explosive Capitals’ offence. Draft him as the player he has been with room for upside.
The Sabres signed Marcus Foligno to a one-year contract worth $2.25 million on July 14th.
Since breaking into the NHL in 2011-12, Foligno has seen his point-production rise a little bit in each season, reaching 23 points (10G / 13A) in 75 games last year. Still not great production from the 24-year-old, but another one-year deal should motivate him for more in 2016-17.
Fabbri (lower-body) will be a game-time decision for Game 5.
Johansson (upper-body) missed Tuesday’s practice, but is available for Game 4 on Wednesday.
Bogosian (lower-body) will not play on Saturday.
Bogosian suffered a lower-body injury in the Sabres loss to the Blue Jackets on Friday. Bogosian is expected to be replaced by Casey Nelson.
Fabbri (ankle) will return to the lineup on Saturday.
Fabbri has missed the last four games with an ankle injury, but will return to the lineup in the season finale on Saturday. Fabbri has enjoyed a lot of success this season, registering 18 goals and 19 assists (37 points) in 71 games.
Zuccarello (lower-body) will not play Saturday vs. the Red Wings.
Zucarello missed the Rangers practice on Friday and will be held out of the lineup on Saturday. The Rangers have already clinched a playoff spot, so they will give Zuccarello the night off, hoping he will be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.
Spurgeon (lower-body) is expected to return to the Wild lineup on Tuesday.
Spurgeon missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but is expected to be back in vs. the Sharks. Monitor his status during the morning skate, but expect him to draw back in alongside Ryan Suter. Spurgeon has 11 goals and 18 assists (29 points) in 75 games this season.
Fabbri (ankle) is expected to miss the next 2-3 games.
Fabbri suffered and ankle injury in Tuesday’s win over the Avalanche, but it doesn’t sound like it is very serious. He will miss the next few games, but is expected to be back before the end of the regular season.
Fabbri left Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury and did not return.
Fabbri left last night’s game after playing 11:55 TOI. The Blues will not practice on Wednesday, so there likely won’t be an update on Fabbri’s status until Thursday.
Foligno (illness) will return to the Blue Jackets lineup on Thursday.
Foligno missed Tuesday’s game with an illness, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Hurricanes. Foligno has had a down year, posting just nine goals and 25 assists (34 points) in 63 games.
