Foligno (illness) missed the morning skate and is questionable for Tuesday’s game.

Foligno is battling an illness and head coach John Tortorella listed him as questionable for tonight’s game vs. the Flyers. Consider him a game-time decision and expect Alex Wennberg, who missed Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury to replace Foligno if he can’t play.

Pickard starts Saturday vs. the Predators.

Pickard allowed two goals on 40 shots in Colorado’s win over the Panthers on Thursday. Pickard has won three straight starts while posting a 2.27 GAA and .930 SV%. This afternoon he takes on a Predators team that is 5-0-1 in their last six—Pickard is 3-1-1 with a 2.00 GAA and .945 SV% in five starts and one relief appearance on home ice.

Pickard will start Thursday vs. the Panthers.

Pickard stopped 15 of 16 shots after replacing an ineffective Semyon Varlamov in Colorado’s loss to the Wild on Tuesday. Pickard has landed the Avalanche backup gig with a 5-4-1 record, 2.62 GAA, .918 SV% and two shutouts. He has a tough matchup with the Atlantic Division leading Panthers in town—Florida is 1-1-1 to start their five-game road trip.

The Penguins have signed Olli Maata to a six-year, $24.498M ($4.083M AAV) contract extension.

Maatta was set to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season, but is now signed through the 2021-22 season with a $4.083 million cap-hit. Maatta has 16 points (6G / 10A) in 53 games this season and 54 points (16G / 38A) in 151 career NHL games.

Pickard will start on Wednesday vs. San Jose.

Pickard allowed two goals on 27 shots in the Avalanche’s win in Edmonton on Saturday. With Semyon Varlamov out with an illness, Pickard will go tonight vs. the Sharks. Pickard is 4-3-1 with a 2.67 GAA and .918 SV% on the season and 1-1-0 with a 4.23 GAA and .879 SV% in his first two starts vs. San Jose.

Pickard allowed one goal on 18 shots after replacing Semyon Varlamov in the Avs’ 4-1 loss in Buffalo. Picked has gone 3-3-1 with a 2.75 GAA and .917 SV% this season, including 2-2-0 with a 3.35 GAA and .891 SV% on the road. He’ll take on an Oilers team that has lost six of their last seven games.

Spurgeon (undisclosed) will not play on Tuesday, could play on Thursday.

Spurgeon suffered a bone bruise in Saturday’s loss in St. Louis and he will miss Tuesday’s game vs. the Stars as a result. With Spurgeon out, Mike Reilly will be back in the lineup after being recalled from Iowa (AHL) and Christian Folin is expected to skate on the top pair with Ryan Suter. Spurgeon is listed as day-to-day.

Pickard allowed two goals on 42 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Blackhawks on Tuesday. Pickard has played very well in his last two outings and despite Semyon Varlamov being back with the team, Pickard will go again tonight vs. the Stars. Pickard has allowed five goals on 80 shots (.938 SV%) in his last two outings, but draws another rough matchup tonight.

Pickard allowed three goals on 38 shots in Colorado’s win in Los Angeles last Wednesday. Pickard will start his third consecutive game, having allowed a combined seven goals on 58 shots (.879 SV%) in his first two starts. He will face a Blackhawks team that lost three of four before the All-Star break.

Pickard was pulled after he allowed four goals on 20 shots in Colorado’s loss in San Jose last night. He missed the morning skate with an illness, but still played and Patrick Roy wanted him to rest in the third so he’ll be ready to go tonight vs. the Kings. Pickard has a 2.87 GAA and .907 SV% since being recalled from the AHL.
