After his ninth game the Penguins had to decide whether or not to keep Maatta and burn the first year of his entry-level contract or send him back to juniors. Bogosian will make his season debut tonight vs. Pittsburgh. He will play on the Jets 2nd D-pairing with Ron Hainsey. Bogosian had 30 points in 65 last year so he could be a good waiver wire pickup for the rest of this season.
This is great news for the Jets, Bogosian had 5 G, 25 A, -3 and 117 hits in 65 games last season. The young blueliner will be a welcomed return to a Jets blueline that already has Tobias Enstrom (2G, 11A, -3, 6PPP) and Dustin Byfuglien (3G, 4A, +1, 4PPP). Bogosian will likely take a few games to get back into game shape but he would be a good pickup because of his offensive upside.
