Washington acquired the defenseman from the Montreal for a third-round pick (originally acquired from Minnesota) and a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft with Montreal retaining 50 percent of Edmundson's contract in the offseason. He is entering his ninth NHL season.
