Kopitar left the game after playing just 5:12 TOI but there is no indication how he suffered the injury. Kopitar has nine points (4G / 5A) in eight games since the All-Star break and has been on a tear since the middle of December, so this would be a huge loss at both ends of the ice. Expect an update on Kopitar’s status heading into the weekend.

Kuemper allowed three goals on 18 shots in the Wild’s loss to Boston last Saturday. Devan Dubnyk started last night, so Kuemper will get the nod tonight in Edmonton. Kuemper has not recorded a win since January 21st and comes in with a 2-1-3 record, 2.11 GAA and .928 SV% on the road.

Kuemper has gone 3-1-2 with a 2.34 GAA and .917 SV% on home ice this season, but hasn’t won a game since January 21st.

Panarin missed the last two games with an illness, but is set to return to the Blackhawks lineup on Saturday. The 24-year-old rookie leads all first-year players with 52 points (18G / 24A) in 56 games this season.

After being a late scratch on Tuesday, Panarin will miss a second straight game vs. the Stars. With Panarin out, Richard Panik will skate on the second line with Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane. Panarin remains day-to-day.

Laughton has just 14 points (4G / 10A) in 52 games this season and has only two assists in his last 12 games. He will be replaced by Jordan Weal tonight.



Panarin was listed as a game-time decision after missing the morning skate with an illness. He will be scratched for the very first time this season and will be replaced by Jiri Sekac.

Forsberg, 23, has gone 13-8-3 with a 2.58 GAA and .907 SV% with Lake Erie and 1-3-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .907 SV% with the Blue Jackets. He is expected to split the crease with Joonas Korpisalo while Sergei Bobrovsky is sidelined.

With Kuemper coming off of a shutout and Devan Dubnyk losing his last four, Kuemper will get a second straight start. Kuemper has gone 2-0-3 with a 1.83 GAA and .935 SV% on the road this season and shut the Sharks out back in mid-December.
