Ekblad missed the first game of his NHL career on Saturday, but he seems to be over the illness and should definitely be back in the lineup on Thursday vs. the Jets. Ekblad is having a sensational season for an 18-year-old, registering 11 goals and 23 assists (34 points) in 65 games.

Goalie Start
Markstrom starts Tuesday vs. the Sharks.
Markstrom has not played an NHL game yet this season, but has performed admirably at the AHL level, going 17-7-2 with a 1.95 GAA and .932 SV% in 26 games with Utica. He will face the Sharks, who sit just five points behind them in the Pacific Division.
The Flyers have acquired Radko Gudas, a 2015 1st round pick and a 2015 third round pick from the Lightning for Braydon Coburn.
Gudas, 24, is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery in early January. He has one more year on his deal with a 992K cap-hit. Gudas is extremely physical and possesses a heavy slap-shot from the point. He was second on the Lightning in hits (115) and fifth in blocked shots (63) despite playing on 31 games.
Call up / Send down
The Canucks have recalled Jacob Markstrom up from Utica (AHL) on an emergency basis.
With Ryan Miller out for an undetermined amount of time, Markstrom, 25, returns to the Canucks to serve as Eddie Lack’s backup for the time being. He has had a great season with Utica, going 17-7-2 with a 1.95 GAA and .932 SV% in 26 games. The 2008 second round pick (31st overall) has gone 12-27-5 with a 3.19 GAA and .896 SV% in his NHL career.
Line Change
Kulikov is set to return from his suspension on Sunday.
Kulikov served his four-game suspension and will play tonight in Pittsburgh. The Panthers went 2-1-1 without Kulikov, but should benefit from having him back on the blue line tonight. He has 16 points (2G / 14A) in 49 games.
Call up / Send down
The Flames have sent Sam Bennett to Kingston (OHL).
Bennett, 18, has not played all season because of a shoulder injury. He has been skating with the Flames recently and is set to return to action, but that will happen in the OHL. Bennett had 91 points (36G / 51A) and 118 PIMS in 57 games with Kingston last season.
Kulikov has been suspended for four games for his hit on Tyler Seguin.
Kulikov was suspended for his low hit on Seguin on Friday. Seguin suffered a knee injury on the play and will miss 3-6 weeks. Kulikov already served one game of his suspension, so he will be eligible to return on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
Eller (lower-body) will be a game-time decision.
Eller took part in the Canadiens morning skate and it sounds like he will play tonight, but that decision likely won’t be made until pre game warmups.

Bennett (shoulder) skated with a no-contact jersey on Monday.
Bennett has missed the entire season after having shoulder surgery in the preseason. Bennett was expected to miss 4-6 months, and the middle of February would mark the four month mark. Returning to the ice is a positive step in his recovery.
Eller left Sunday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return.
Eller reportedly seemed OK after the game, but did not want to risk returning not at 100%. Monitor his status prior to Tuesday’s game vs. the Sabres.
The Blackhawks acquired Gustav Forsling from the Canucks for Adam Clendening.
Forsling, 18, was the Canucks fifth round pick (126th overall) in 2014. The Blackhawks did not have room for Clendening, who deserved to be in the NHL, so they moved him for a younger prospect, who they will let develop for the next few years. Forsling has three goals and two assists in 35 games with Linkopings HC in Sweden.
Line Change
Petrovic will make his season debut vs. Columbus on Thursday.
Petrovic was recalled on Wednesday and will be in the lineup tonight. He will replace Dylan Olsen and likely be paired with Erik Gudbranson. Petrovic leads all San Antonio (AHL) blue liners with 19 points (3G / 16A) this season.
Call up / Send down
The Panthers recalled Alex Petrovic from San Antonio (AHL) on Wednesday.
Petrovic, 22, leads all San Antonio defensemen in points with 19 (3G / 16A) in 39 games. He has yet to play with the Panthers this season, but has one assist in 13 career games over the last two years.
Marchand will return to the Bruins lineup after serving his suspension.
Marchand missed the last two games due to a suspension he was handed for slew-footing Derick Brassard of the Rangers last Thursday. Tonight he will get back into the lineup on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Reilly Smith.

Marchand will miss tomorrow’s game vs. the Blue Jackets and Tuesday’s game in Dallas. He is eligible to return for the Bruins final game before the All Star break on Wednesday.

Barkov has missed the last two games with an illness, but is expected to be back in tonight vs. the Jets. Barkov has just three goals and five assists in 29 games this season. Brandon Pirri will come out of the lineup to make room for Barkov.
