The 26-year-old last played in the NHL in 2022-23 with Winnipeg but has five goals, 12 points and 48 PIMS in 73 career NHL games played. In 2023-24, he had 12 goals and 54 points in 69 games played with Manitoba.
Hughes spent 2023-24 with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL) and earned himself a one-year, two-way contract with Dallas on Monday. The 27-year-old winger has surpassed 40+ points in each of his last three AHL seasons and had 25 goals and 57 points in 69 games with Coachella in 2023-24.
Joel Kiviranta will return to the Avalanche after a successful first season with Colorado after signing a one-year contract extension on Monday. The 28-year-old left-winger appeared in 56 games with Colorado in 2023-24, scoring three goals, nine points, 12 PIMs and 48 SOG.
Lundkvist will return to Dallas for a third NHL season after signing a one-year extension worth $1,250,000 on Monday. The 23-year-old collected a career-high in points (19) and +/- (+13) in 2023-24 to go along with 16 PIMs in 59 games played.
Matt Duchene will return to Dallas after an incredibly successful first season with the Stars in 2023-24 after signing a one-year, $3.0 million on Monday. The 33-year-old just completed his 15th NHL season and had 25 goals and 65 points in 80 games played in 2023-24.
After not receiving a qualifying offer, the Stars signed Steel to a one-year deal to return to the bottom-6. The 25-year-old forward had a productive season for a fourth liner, scoring nine goals with 15 assists (24 points) in 77 games. Look for him to play a similar depth role and serve as a primary penalty killer in 2024-25.
Myers finished a five-year contract that carried a $6.0M AAV cap-hit and signs a three-year extension at half the cap-hit. In 2023-24, Myers had his highest point total (29) since 2019 and had 100-plus blocked shots and hits for then second time in his 15-year career. Next season he should continue to be a top-4 option and among the team-leaders in PK/TOI.
Burroughs went from a sixth/seventh defenseman with the Canucks in 2023 to a top-4 option with the Sharks. He averaged 19:09 TOI/gm and picked up eight points (2G / 6A) while finishing with the fifth-worst plus/minus (-42) in the NHL. With the Kings, he'll likely go back to being a sixth/seventh defenseman.
Back spent the entire 2024 season in Texas (AHL), where he tallied seven goals and 29 assists (36 points). The 2018 third-round pick will likely start the 2025 season in the AHL again.

He will host the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday for Game 2, who are in the midst of a three-game win streak and will be looking to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
