Jenner will miss at least the next two games, but could return on Saturday in Calgary.

Jenner has been out since December 18th, but he took part in the Blue Jackets practice this morning, including line rushes, which is a great sign he is nearing a return. He will travel with the team to Western Canada and should return to the lineup at some point during the trip.

Jenner has been sidelined since December 18th. He resumed skating in late-February, but had not made any significant progress. Skating today is a good sign that he may return to practice soon—but until then, his return is not imminent.

Severson has been out with a fractured ankle since December 15th. Tonight he will return to the lineup vs. Nashville and the Devils will go with seven blue liners. He is expected to be paired with Jon Merrill.

Smith left Thursday’s game in San Jose with an arm injury after being slew-footed by Logan Couture. Couture was fined for the play yesterday, but it may cost Smith a game because he is questionable for today’s contest vs. the Predators. Xavier Oullet has been recalled and will play if Smith can’t.

Jenner has been out with a fracture in his back, but returned to the ice today. He still remains over a week away from returning to practice, but today was a positive step in his recovery.

Severson has been out since December 15th because of a hairline fracture in his ankle. He was only supposed to miss 4-5 weeks, but he is already six and a half weeks removed from the injury. It sounds like it will end up being about eight or nine weeks from the date of injury.

Gudbranson, who was back at practice earlier this week, will miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury. With Gudbranson out, Shane O’Brien will remain in the lineup.

The injury woes continue in Columbus. Jenner, who missed the start of the season with a broken had, has scored six goals with six assists (12 points) in 20 games before getting injured. He has been placed on IR and will be out until at least late-January. The Blue Jackets recalled Sean Collins from Springfield (AHL).

Severson was injured while blocking a shot on December 6th vs. Washington. He played five games on it before it swelled up on Wednesday. His fractured ankle will not require surgery, but you won’t see him back in the lineup until mid-to-late January. Expect Eric Gelinas to return as a full-timer on the blue line.

Smith has missed the last five games with a hand infection he suffered in a fight with Nick Foligno. With Smith being activated, the Red Wings have assigned Xavier Ouellet to Grand Rapids. Smith has six points (2G / 4A) in 18 games this season.

Smith was on the ice for Red Wings practice on Tuesday, but said after the skate that he probably won’t be medically cleared to play on Wednesday, but is feeling good. Smith is day-to-day.
