Merzlikins will start Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
Merzlikins allowed two goals on 17 shots (.882 SV%) his last time out in a relief appearance where he saw no decision vs. the Philadelphia Flyers. The 28-year-old has been horrendous this season with his .864 SV%, 4.74 GAA and 2-5-0 record. He will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins who have won their last two games and are sixth in the NHL in goals for (3.52) and eighth in shots (33.7).
The Blue Jackets have recalled Kirill Marchenko from Cleveland (AHL).
Marchenko was a second-round pick in 2018 and came over from the KHL this season. He started the season in the AHL, picking up 19 points (8G / 11A) in 16 games with Cleveland. Marchenko will likely make his NHL debut in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Olivier is day-to-day with an illness.
Olivier missed his third straight game due to illness on Sunday. It's unclear if he will travel to Pittsburgh for Tuesday's game against the Penguins.
Lundestrom is expected to miss six weeks with a fractured finger.

He has had an atrocious season, posting a 2-5-0 record with a 4.82 GAA and .863 SV%. He faces off against the Philadelphia Flyers who have lost three straight games only scoring four goals across the three loses.
Jake Christiansen has been recalled from Cleveland (AHL).
Christiansen has four assists in 11 games prior to his promotion to Columbus from Cleveland (AHL). This will be his first all up of the 2022-23 season, but the 23-year-old previously played in the NHL with Columbus in 2021-22, where he played in eight games and scored one goal.
