The 31-year-old Monahan is off to a slow start this season despite top-line and top-powerplay deployment, scoring only six points (1G / 5A) in 13 games.

Gudbranson has been plagued with injuries this season, missing two weeks in early October with a lower-body injury, returning for a game, suffering a hip injury, and has been sidelined for the last two weeks again. Dysin Mayo will draw into the lineup as Mateychuk's replacement.

Wood suffered a scary injury in the Blue Jackets third game of the season, exiting early after an errant stick caught him directly in his eye. Despite the scary scene, Wood avoided a significant injury and will return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Buffalo Sabres. Zach Aston-Reese will serve as a healthy scratch to accommodate Wood's return.
