Schwartz (lower-body) was a full participant in Tuesday’s practice; likely to play on Wednesday.
Schwartz missed the Blues last two games with a lower-body injury, but was back on the ice for Tuesday’s practice. Schwartz skated in his regular spot on the Blues’ second line and power-play, suggesting that he will play on Wednesday. Schwartz has registered two assists and seven shots on goal in three games this season.
Schwartz (lower-body) is “questionable to doubtful” for Saturday.
There’s no word what kind of lower-body injury Schwartz is dealing with, but he did take a Vladimir Tarasenko shot off of the foot on Thursday. With Schwartz likely out, Samuel Blais skated on the second line during Friday’s practice.
Kamenev is expected to draw into Colorado’s lineup on Thursday.
It will be Kamenev’s fourth appearance with the Avalanche after being acquired from the Predators last season. The 22-year-old had one assist in two games with Colorado (AHL) before he was called up last week.
Landeskog (lower-body) will be in Colorado’s lineup on Tuesday.
Landeskog missed Monday’s practice but was on the ice for Tuesday’s morning skate and will play tonight in Columbus. Landeskog has one goal, one assist, a plus-3 rating and two shots on goal in the first two games of the season.
The Avalanche recalled Vladislav Kamenev from Colorado (AHL).
Kamenev did not make the Avalanche out of training camp and headed to the Eagles (AHL) to start the season. The 22-year-old had one assist in two games but has been recalled with Gabriel Landeskog banged up.
Landeskog is questionable for Tuesday with a lower-body injury.
Landeskog did not practice on Monday and is questionable to play tomorrow in Columbus. The Avalanche are hopeful that he will be available, but Matt Calvert skated on the Avalanche top line with Landeskog unavailable.
The Canadiens have acquired Brett Kulak from the Flames for Rinat Valiev and Matt Taormina.
Kulak was a fourth-round pick (No.105 overall) in 2012 and has appeared in 101 career NHL games with the Flames. The 24-year-old is coming off of a season in which he scored just two goals and six assists (eight points) across 71 games.
The Senators send Christian Wolanin to Belleville (AHL).
Wolanin was expected to make the Senators opening night roster but was one of their final cuts this weekend. Wolanin appeared in 10 games at the end of last season after turning pro following his junior year at the University of North Dakota.
The Flames re-signed Brett Kulak to a one-year deal worth $900K.
The Islanders signed Brock Nelson to a one-year deal worth $4.25M.
The Sharks signed Ryan Merkley to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The Coyotes have acquired Vinnie Hinostroza, Marian Hossa, Jordan Oesterle and a 2019 3rd Round Pick from the Blackhawks for Marcus Kruger, Andrew Campbell, MacKenzie Entwistle, Jordan Maletta and a 2019 5th Round Pick.
The Sharks select Ryan Merkley with the No.21 overall pick.
The Blackhawks have signed Vinnie Hinostroza to a two-year contract extension last Friday.
Hinostroza, 24, is a Chicago native who was drafted in the sixth round in 2012 and set career-highs in games (50), goals (7), assists (18) and points (25) with the Blackhawks last season. He also spent some time in Rockford (AHL) where he was near a point-per-game with 22 points (9G / 13A) in 23 games. Hinostroza projects to be a middle-6 forward to start the 2019 season.
Suspension
Kadri was suspended three games for his hit on Tommy Wingels; won't play in Game 2 on Saturday.
Line Change
Roy was recalled from Charlotte (AHL) on Friday and will make his NHL debut on Saturday.
Roy, 21, was a fourth round pick (No.96 overall) in 2015 and has picked up 37 points (10G / 27A) in 68 games with the Checkers this season. Roy will make his debut on the fourth line with Joakim Nordstrom and Valentic Zykov.
Kamenev will be back in Colorado’s lineup on Thursday.
Wolanin will make his NHL debut on Thursday.
The Senators have signed Christian Wolanin to a two-year entry-level contract.
Wolanin, 23, wrapped up his third year at the University of North Dakota, where he collected 12 goals and 23 assists (35 points) in 40 games—to lead the team in points from the blueline. Wolanin is expected to suit up for the Senators for the final few weeks of the season.
