Landeskog (concussion) hasn't played since January 26th. It appears he will return to the Avs lineup this weekend.

The Avs could use the services of their young captain as they have struggled without him. Monitor his status in the next couple days to see if he will be in the lineup against Los Angeles, Anaheim or San Jose.

Brent Burns was paired with Brad Stuart today at practice.
Burns had been skating as an extra at practice but was paired with Stuart today which indicates he is nearing a return. He could suit up tomorrow for the Sharks, but nothing is official. Check back tomorrow for an official word on Burns.

This will be the second game in a row that Landeskog has missed due to injuries sustained on the big hit he took from Sharks defenceman Brad Stuart.

Still no timetable for Burns return, but the fact that he is skating again is a step in the right direction.

Burns continues to rehab, but when he will be back on the ice is unknown. The Sharks are on a tear right now so I don't foresee them rushing Burns back and risk him re-injuring himself. For now just monitor his status going forward, and pick him up accordingly if he is still available.

Nazem Kadri looks like he's going to get his shot.
The Maple Leafs trade Lombardi yesterday and are going to Waive Connolly today. This leaves the door open for Kadri to make the team and step in and make a difference. Kadri is a talented player so monitor him as the season moves along, if he can score... He's worth a fantasy look.

The Devils have signed goaltender Scott Wedgewood to a three-year entry level contract.
You may have gotten a good look at Wedgewood as the starting goalie for Team Canada during the WJHC. He is probably the best internal option to replace Martin Brodeur at this juncture.
