Hanley is expected to dress as the Stars' seventh defenseman as he anticipates to make his season debut on Monday against the Boston Bruins. Hanley has become a reliable depth defenseman when called upon by the Stars, playing 129 games over the past five seasons, scoring 18 points (2G / 16A), 125 blocks, and 143 hits.

Prosvetov will make his first start as a member of the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday after making his first appearance last week, saving all five shots he faced entering the game in relief of Alexandar Georgiev. Prosvetov has 14 NHL games under his belt (4-6-1), accumulated over the last three seasons as a member of the Arizona Coyotes, averaging a 4.03 GAA and .873 SV%. The Avalanche have been outscored 8-0 in their last two games (0-2-0) but are still -229 home favourites against a St. Louis Blues team that ranks second worst in the league offensively, averaging only 1.86 goals per game.

Frost has been a healthy scratch the last six games and will return to the Flyers' lineup on Monday, replacing Ryan Poehling. Frost broke out last season, recording 46 points (19G / 27A) in 81 games but hasn't had the favour of John Tortorella and the Flyers' coaching staff early this season. He is likely to slot on the second line with Travis Konecny and Tyson Foerster.

With Devon Levi and Eric Comrie both injured, Devin Cooley has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the AHL to back up Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. In four games with Rochester (3-0-1), Cooley has a 3.46 GAA and .903 SV%.

Hunt signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flames in the offseason and will make his Calgary debut Tuesday as he replaces A.J. Greer in the lineup vs. the New York Rangers. The 27-year-old is entering his seventh NHL season with his sixth different team and has 15 goals and 43 points in 202 career games played. He is expected to draw into the Flames' fourth line for his debut.

Okhotyuk had yet to appear in any of the Sharks first three games and has now been loaned to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) for a conditioning assignment. The 22-year-old defensive defensemen was acquired in 2022-23 in the deal that saw Timo Meier head to New Jersey. He had a goal, six SOG, two PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in 10 games last season with New Jersey.
