The Flyers have recalled Alex Lyon from Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Lyon missed the start of the season but has gone 2-1-0 with a 2.68 GAA and .934 SV% in three games with Lehigh Valley since. Lyon has been called up because Brain Elliott is day-to-day, Michal Neuvirth is on IR and Lyon should backup Calvin Pickard.

Tuch (lower-body) has been activated from IR and is expected to make his season debut on Wednesday.

Tuch has missed the first eight games of the season with a lower-body injury, but is expected to play vs. the Canucks on Wednesday. Tuch will skate on the second line with Erik Haula and Max Pacioretty. The 22-year-old will look to build off of a 37-point (15G / 22A) rookie campaign, where he also added 10 points (6G / 4A) in 20 playoff games.

Georgiev will start Tuesday vs. the Panthers.

Georgiev allowed seven goals on 39 shots in the Rangers loss in Carolina on October 7th. Georgiev went down to the AHL last week to get some starts in, going 1-1-0 with a 3.02 GAA and .905 SV%. The 22-year-old draws a really difficult matchup tonight with the Panthers in town—they are tied for 11th in scoring (3.33 GF/PG) through their first six games.

The Rangers have recalled Alexandar Georgiev from Hartford (AHL).

Georgiev got two starts with the Wolf Pack while Henrik Lundqvist started the Rangers’ three games last weeks. Georgiev went 1-1-0 while allowing six goals on 63 shots (.905 SV%) in his tow starts and returns to the NHL, where he might not start a game for a few weeks—their next back-to-back isn’t until Nov.9-Nov.10.

The Golden Knights have signed Alex Tuch to a seven-year extension worth $33.25 million ($4.75M AAV).

Tuch has not played this season but is nearing his season debut and is coming off of a season in which he scored 15 goals and 22 assists in 78 games. Tuch also added 10 points (6G / 4A) in 20 playoff games during the Golden Knights run to the finals. Tuch joins Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, Brayden McNabb, Shea Theodore and Colin Miller as players under 30-years-old on long-term contracts.

The Flyers have activated Alex Lyon from IR and loaned him to Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Lyon is not waiver exempt, so he has been loaned to Lehigh Valley but will need to clear waivers in order to be sent to the AHL. The 25-year-old was 16-8-2 with a 2.75 GAA and .913 SV% in 27 games with the Phantoms a year ago.

Georgiev will start Sunday in Carolina.

Georgiev spent most of last year in Hartford (AHL), where he went 14-13-2 with a 2.98 GAA and .918 SV% in 37 starts. During a short time with the Rangers, the 22-year-old was 4-4-1 with 3.15 GAA and .918 SV% in 10 starts. He will serve as Henrik Lundqvist’s backup this season and make his first start against a Hurricanes team that has four goals in two games.

Tuch is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Tuch left the Golden Knights’ preseason finale with an undisclosed injury, that the Golden Knights revealed was a lower-body injury on Wednesday. Tuch is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks, which opens the door for Oscar Lindberg to enter the lineup on Thursday.

The Oilers have assigned Ryan McLeod to Mississauga (OHL).

McLeod was selected in the second-round (No.40) of this summer’s draft and enjoyed a strong training camp. The Oilers have plenty of depth down the middle, so McLeod returns to the Steelheads, where he had 70 points (26G / 44A) in 68 games last year.
