Geertsen was a healthy scratch on Thursday so this probably won't affect the Devils' lineup plans for Saturday's game in Columbus but Geertsen will be unavailable for at least two games.

The Sabres have placed Peyton Krebs on the COVID-19 protocol list on Tuesday.
The Sabres placed three more players in COVID-19 protocol, bringing their total to five players ahead of their game Thursday vs. the Sharks. Dylan Cozens is expected to be back in the lineup tomorrow, replacing Krebs on the second line.
Carrick will not play Tuesday due to a non-COVID illness.

Danforth is expected to miss six weeks with an MCL sprain he suffered on Thursday. He will be replaced by Eric Robinson, who comes off of the COVID-19 protocol list.
The Senators have added Josh Norris to the COVID-19 protocol list.
The Senators are set to play Saturday in Toronto but it looks like they'll have to do it without their No.1 centre. Tim Stuetzle and Nick Paul will likely play larger roles while Norris is sidelined.

The Sabres have recalled Peyton Krebs from Rochester (AHL).
With five forwards on the COVID-19 protocol list, the Sabres have dipped into the AHL and called up some of their top prospects. Krebs, who was acquired in the Jack Eichel trade, has scored four goals with 10 assists (14 points) in 16 AHL games since being acquired by the Sabres. He'll likely make his Sabres debut vs. the Devils on Wednesday.
Zucker is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Zucker has been dealing with a nagging lower-body injury and is expected to miss multiple weeks. This comes at a terrible time, with the Penguins adding six players to the COVID-19 protocol list over the last two days. Luckily for them, it looks like both Bryan Rust and Evgeni Malkin are nearing returns, potentially as early as Wednesady.
The Rangers added Alexandar Georgiev to the COVID-19 protocol list on Sunday (Dec.26).
With Georgiev out for at least the next four games, look for Igor Shesterkin to start all four with Keith Kinkaid being called-up to serve as his backup.
The Capitals sent Beck Malenstyn to Hershey (AHL) on Monday.
Both Malenstyn and Brett Leason were sent to the AHL on Monday, seemingly opening the door for Tom Wilson to return to the lineup on Tuesday. Michael Sgarbossa also tested out of COVID-19 protocol and will be available to play Tuesday.
