Georgiev will start Wednesday vs. the Jets.

Georgiev will man the crease for the Avalanche as they take on the Winnipeg Jets at home Wednesday. Georgiev is starting his second contest in as many games after stopping 36 of 39 shots in a victory over the Wild on Monday. The 26-year-old will hope to keep his undefeated record in tact as he encouragingly takes the crease for the third time this season.

Jack Quinn will be out of the lineup Tuesday as a Healthy Scratch.

Head coach Don Granato claimed "He won't be out long" in reference to 21-year-old Jack Quinn being left out of the lineup Tuesday. The 2020 No.8 overall pick has struggled to find ice time early on this season averaging 10:29 TOI through his first two games while putting up zero points.

Georgiev is expected to start Monday in Minnesota.

Georgiev will likely start Monday as the Avalanche head to Minnesota for a battle of Central division rivals. Georgiev had a shakey first start in Colorado's opening night 5-2 win over Chicago, allowing two goals on 17 shots while ultimately securing the victory. He will be looking to add another victory to the win column as he battles Pavel Francouz for starts all season in the Avalanche crease.

Timmins left Saturday's game with an upper-body injury and did not return.

Timmins has had an atrocious time trying to stay healthy since being drafted No.32 overall in 2017. Last season he was limited to just six games and is hurt just two games in 2022-23. Consider him questionable to play Monday until the Coyotes provide more details on his status.

Georgiev led the Colorado Avalanche onto the ice for warm-ups Wednesday

Georgiev will get his first start as a member of the Stanley Cup-winning Colorado Avalanche Wednesday in Chicago. The Avalanche's new netminder will draw the first start of back-to-back games as the Avalanche play Calgary on Thursday. The 26-year-old will be looking to prove he deserves the fantasy-rich number-one spot in Colorado after posting a .898 SV% while backing up with the Rangers in 2021-22.

The Sabres have signed Mattias Samuelsson to a seven-year contract worth $30.0 million ($4.29M AAV).

Samuelsson gets a huge extension despite only appearing in 52 NHL games over the last two seasons. The 2018 No.32 overall pick had 10 assists in 42 games last season and projects to be a huge part of the Sabres' blueline this season, skating with Rasmussen Dahlin at 5v5.

Greenway (upper-body) is expected to miss the first 5-to-10 games of the season.

Greenway underwent offseason surgery on an upper-body injury and is expected to be sidelined for at least the first couple of weeks of the regular season. With that said, Wild GM Bill Guerin said that Greenway is in the "home stretch" of his rehab.

The Oilers have signed Ryan McLeod to a one-year contract worth $798K.

McLeod was essentially a full-time NHLer in 2022, scoring nine goals with 12 assists (21 points) in 71 games with the Oilers. Entering his age-23 season, McLeod will serve as Edmonton's No.3 centre behind Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl/Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. However, he did see some playing time on the wing in the top-6 down the stretch last year.

The Senators have re-signed Josh Norris to an eight-year, $63.6 million contract.

Norris was an RFA and signed an eight-year deal that carries a $7.95M AAV cap-hit and a limited no-trade clause in the final four years. Norris is coming off of a breakout campaign, leading the Senators in goals (35) and third in points (55) in just 66 games. With the additions of Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux this offseason, Norris will have no shortage of talented wingers to play with next season.
