Arvidsson will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb.

Arvidsson missed three games with a lower-body injury before returning last Saturday, when he suffered a broken thumb. Arvidsson will be out until at least late-December, which means Kevin Fiala and Colton Sissons will continue to see expanded roles. Top prospects Elli Tolvanen could be called up to fill-in for Arvidsson.

McAvoy (concussion) will not travel on the Bruins upcoming road-trip.

McAvoy has missed the last eight games with a concussion and isn’t expected to return any time soon. McAvoy will not travel at the start of the Bruins road-trip, so he’ll miss at least Wednesday’s game in Colorado and likely their back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.

The Devils have recalled Pavel Zacha from Binghamton (AHL).

Zacha struggled to start the season with New Jersey, failing to pick up a point in his first 10 games. Since being sent to Binghamton, the former No.6 overall pick had five assists in four games. Zacha has been brought back up because Brian Boyle has landed on IR.

The Predators have placed Viktor Arvidsson (upper-body) on IR.

Arvidsson was activated from IR with a lower-body injury for Saturday’s game, but was forced to leave the game with an upper-body injury. Arvidsson was hurt while crashing into the boards and will miss at least the next three games. With Arvidsson back out, Kevin Fiala will likely move back to the top line.

The Predators have activated Viktor Arvidsson (lower-body) has been activated from IR.

Arvidsson has missed the last three games but is set to return on Saturday afternoon after being activated from IR. Arvidsson has picked up 12 points (8G / 4A) in 12 games this season and will likely reclaim his spot on the top line today.

Arvidsson (lower-body) is not expected to play on Wednesday.

Arvidsson was placed on IR on Monday, but was on the ice for Tuesday’s practice and Wednesday’s morning skate but is not expected to play in Colorado. It’s a good sign that Arvidsson was on the ice for two straight days, so there’s a chance that he plays Saturday in Dallas.

The Devils assigned Pavel Zacha to Binghamton (AHL).

Zacha has not recorded a point in 10 games this season, so he heads to the AHL for the first time since 2015-16. Zacha has been a solid defensive centre for the Devils, but they were expecting to get more offence out of him when they picked him No.6 overall in 2015. His move to the AHL will allow him to play huge offensive minutes and try to re-discover that part of his game.

The Bruins have placed Charlie McAvoy (upper-body) on IR.

McAvoy’s move to IR is retroactive to October 18th, so he’s eligible to return whenever he is 100 percent. McAvoy did not skate on Monday after retuning to the ice on Saturday, so his move to IR suggests that he may have suffered a setback. McAvoy won’t play Tuesday, but monitor his status as the week progresses.

Korpisalo will start Saturday against the Sabres.

Korpisalo allowed four goals on 37 shots in the Blue Jackets win in St. Louis on Thursday. Korpisalo has won each of his first three starts this season, despite posting a below average 3.29 GAA and .898 SV%. He continues to steal starts from Sergei Bobrovsky and makes for a decent option against the 25th ranked offence in the NHL (2.60 GF/PG).

McAvoy has no timetable for his return from an upper-body injury.

McAvoy will miss his second straight game on Thursday and the Bruins are unsure how long their young defenseman will be sidelined. With McAvoy, Torey Krug, Kevan Miller and Urho Vaakanainen all out, Jeremy Lauzon has been called up and will make his NHL debut tonight.

Korpisalo will start Thursday in St. Louis.

Korpisalo gave up four goals on 41 shots in the Blue Jackets win in Florida on October 11th. Korpisalo has won each of his two starts this season, allowing six goals on the 61 shots (.902 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he faces his third start against a Blues team that is currently tied for 16th in the NHL in scoring (3.13 GF/PG).

McAvoy “has not been feeling right” and was returned to Boston for testing.

McAvoy took a hit against Edmonton last week and has not been feeling right according to head coach Bruce Cassidy. McAvoy will undergo testing in Boston, so he won’t be available for Saturday’s game in Vancouver. Kevan Miller is also out, so Urho Vaakaninen has been recalled and will play.

Jokiharju (flu) is expected to play on Thursday.

Jokiharju missed Wednesday’s practice because of the flu, but traveled to Minnesota and is expected to play tonight. Jokiharju has five assists in his first three games of the season and was bumped to the top power-play unit recently—adding to his growing fantasy value.
