Jiri Patera has been recalled from Henderson (AHL).

With Adin Hill leaving Sunday's game vs. Anaheim due to an undisclosed injury, Jiri Patera has been recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights (AHL). The 24-year-old started one game already for Vegas this season, picking up a victory with a 3.69 GAA and a .897 SV%. He is likely to backup Logan Thompson while Hill recovers from his recent ailment.

Matthew Poitras has been loaned to the Canada National Junior Team and will be returned after the World Jr Tournament.

Poitras has been impressive in his rookie season with the Bruins but has seen a decline in his play lately, scoring only six points (1G / 5A) in his last 16 games after scoring seven points (4G / 3A) in his 11 games prior. The Bruins hope participating in the World Jr Tournament along with Team Canada can help him elevate his game and re-spark his confidence.

Pavel Zacha (upper body) was a full participant in practice Monday and could return Tuesday vs. Minnesota.

Zacha was a full participant at practice on Monday and re-assumed his previous duties, including centring the top powerplay unit for the Bruins. Zacha suffered an upper-body injury early in the Bruins' December 9th contest against the Arizona Coyotes. After a stretch of 17 points (8G / 9A) in 17 games, Zacha was held to only one point (0G / 1A) in the four games leading up to his injury.

Charlie McAvoy (upper body) was a full participant in practice Monday and could return Tuesday vs. Minnesota.

McAvoy was back at practice on Monday as a full participant, including lining up on the top powerplay unit, a spot previously occupied by Kevin Shattenkirk. McAvoy has missed four straight games due to an upper-body injury suffered on December 7th and looks likely to return to the lineup on Tuesday.

Matthew Poitras is expected to be out Friday as part of a scheduled day off.

The Bruins coaching staff is implementing some load management tactics for 19-year-old rookie Poitras as he is expected to sit for the second time in the last four games. After posting seven points (4G / 3A) in his first 11 games, Poitras' game has fallen off slightly, posting only five (1G / 4A) in his last 15 games.

Pavel Zacha (upper body) has been placed on the Injured Reserve.

Zacha exited Saturday's contest against the Arizona Coyotes with an upper-body injury after playing only 6:42 time-on-ice and has now retroactively been placed on the injured reserve. Zacha has centred the top line and top powerplay unit all season, scoring 19 points (8G / 11A) in 26 games, averaging 18:22 time-on-ice. Morgan Geekie has replaced him, centring the top line during Zacha's absence and assuming duties on the top powerplay.

Charlie McAvoy (upper body) has been placed on the Injured Reserve.

McAvoy has not played since December 7th, missing two games, and has now been retroactively placed on the injured reserve. Before his injury, McAvoy had four points (0G / 4A) in his last five games. In a corresponding move defenseman Parker Wotherspoon has been recalled from the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

Mark Kastelic (high ankle sprain) is set to return to Ottawa's lineup Thursday vs. St. Louis,.

Kastelic has not played since November 2nd when he suffered a high-ankle sprain that has subsequently kept him out of the lineup for approximately six weeks. Kastelic had zero points in nine games before his injury, averaging 6:55 time-on-ice. At morning skate on Thursday, he skated on the fourth line with Parker Kelly and Rourke Chartier.

Charlie McAvoy (upper body) is out Wednesday vs. New Jersey and still considered day-to-day.

McAvoy played only 15:53 time-on-ice on Thursday before exiting the game with a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old defenseman did not play on Saturday and has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the New Jersey Devils. His status remains to be determined for the team's next contest on Friday against the New York Islanders. Kevin Shattenkirk has assumed McAvoy's duties on the top powerplay in his absence.

Harris has not played since November 18th, missing 10 consecutive games, and will miss an additional 10-14 days as he recovers from a lower-body injury. The 23-year Harris was averaging 18:45 time-on-ice and had three points (0G / 3A) through 16 games this season.
