Mrazek allowed two goals on 19 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings 6-4 loss to San Jose on Thursday. Since being recalled, Mrazek has gone 1-2-0 with a 2.29 GAA and .936 SV%. Today he faces a Lightning team who the Red Wings are 0-2-1 against while being outscored 11-5 this season.

Mrazek will start Thursday in Florida.

Mrazek stopped 42 of 43 shots in the Red Wings 5-1 win over the Penguins on Sunday. The 42 saves is a bit misleading as the Red Wings were in control of this game from start-to-finish. He has been very strong this season going 14-5-1 with a 2.47 GAA and .914 SV% and should make for a nice start tonight vs. a Panthers team he is already 1-0 against this season.

After being sent down in late February, Mrazek went 6-0-1 with a 1.13 GAA, .962 SV% and three shutouts. He is having a remarkable season, having gone 13-5-1 with a 2.55 GAA and .909 SV% with the Red Wings this season. His last NHL start came against the Penguins (who he faces today) and he was pulled after allowing four goals on 17 shots.

The Red Wings will recall Petr Mrazek from Grand Rapids (AHL).

Jonas Gustavsson was injured in Sunday’s loss to the Bruins and will not be available for Monday’s game, so Mrazek will be recalled. Mrazek has been great since going to Grand Rapids and now sits 9-2-1 with a 2.06 GAA, .927 SV% and three shutouts in 13 games with GR.

The Flyers have acquired Radko Gudas, a 2015 1st round pick and a 2015 third round pick from the Lightning for Braydon Coburn.

Gudas, 24, is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery in early January. He has one more year on his deal with a 992K cap-hit. Gudas is extremely physical and possesses a heavy slap-shot from the point. He was second on the Lightning in hits (115) and fifth in blocked shots (63) despite playing on 31 games.

The Red Wings have reassigned Petr Mrazek to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Mrazek, 23, filled in admirably while Jonas Gustavsson was out and then played even better when he became the team’s starter when Jimmy Howard went down. Overall he was 13-5-1 with a 2.55 GAA and .909 SV% in 20 games with the Red Wings. He will be back if another injury happens in the crease and he will definitely have a permanent spot on the team in 2015-16.

Mrazek will start on Wednesday.

Mrazek stopped 22 of 23 shots in the Red Wings 3-1 win over the Coyotes on Saturday. He has won three in a row while posting a 0.67 GAA, .973 GAA and one shutout. He has been red-hot which is why Mike Babcock will go with Mrazek over a healthy Jimmy Howard tonight vs. the Penguins.

Mrazek will make his 10th straight start on Saturday.

Mrazek stopped all 28 shots that he faced in the Red Wings 3-0 shutout in over the Avalanche on Thursday. He has won seven of his previous nine starts while posting a 2.67 GAA and .906 SV%. Detroit’s crease is starting to get crowded, but this could be his last start before heading back to the AHL. He makes for a must-start with an excellent matchup in Arizona.

Mrazek is getting the start on Thursday.

Mrazek made 22 saves on 23 shots in the Red Wings win over the Islanders on Saturday. He has been victorious in seven of his last nine starts while posting a 2.90 GAA and .899 SV%. Jonas Gustavsson is back with the Red Wings and Jimmy Howard is expected to be back next week, so this could be Mrazek’s final start before heading back to the AHL.

Mrazek will start on Saturday.

Mrazek was pulled after he allowed five goals on 15 shots in the Red Wings 5-1 loss to the Lightning on Thursday. Mrazek has struggled lately, getting pulled in two of his last four starts and posting a 4.83 GAA and .842 SV% over that stretch. It won’t get any easier with the high-powered Islanders in town.

Mrazek will start vs. Tampa Bay.

Mrazek allowed four goals on 41 shots in the Red Wings 5-4 win over the Panthers on Tuesday. He will go again tonight in Tampa Bay having gone 6-1-0 with a 2.73 GAA and .909 SV% in the month of January. The Lightning present a tough challenge for Mrazek, but the way the Wings are rolling, he still makes for an average start tonight.

Mrazek gets the start tonight in Florida.

Mrazek allowed four goals on 38 shots in the Red Wings 5-4 shootout win over the Wild before the All Star break. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Mrazek, who was yanked in his previous outing. Since Jimmy Howard went down, Mrazek has gone 5-1-0 with a 2.53 GAA and .910 SV%.

The Jets have activated Jacob Trouba (upper-body) from IR; will play tonight.

Trouba has missed the last 16 games with an upper-body injury, but will return tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Trouba has registered 12 points (4G / 8A) with a plus-3 rating in 31 games before getting hurt. He will replace Mark Stuart in tonight’s lineup.

Jacob Trouba
Trouba (upper-body) was a full participant in Jets practice on Tuesday.

For the first time since suffering an upper-body injury back on December 13th, Trouba took line rushes in practice this morning. This is a positive sign that Trouba could be available for tomorrow’s game vs. the Blue Jackets. However, with the All Star break looming, the Jets could elect to rest Trouba for another week.
