Travis Hamonic News

Hamonic will take a seat on Tuesday after drawing into the lineup for Saturday's game in Boston. Jacob Bernard-Docker will play in his place.

With the return of Simon Edvinsson (illness), Hamonic will head to the sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 35-year-old Hamonic has been in-and-out of the lineup all season for the Red Wings. He is averaging 14:26 time-on-ice and has one assist in 15 games.

Hamonic will join his fifth NHL organization in his 16th season after he signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Detroit on Friday to provide some defensive depth. The 35-year-old stay-at-home defender appeared in 59 games with Ottawa in 2024-25, picking up a goal, seven points, and a -16 plus/minus. He is expected to compete for a spot in Detroit's third defensive pairing to start the season.

Hamonic will slot in for Nick Jensen, who was a late scratch on Thursday. Hamonic has one goal and five assists in 56 games this season.

Hamonic has been a healthy scratch for the last three games, but he'll replace Nick Jensen (undisclosed) in the lineup on Saturday. Hamonic has three assists and a minus-14 rating though 51 games this season.

Hamonic was a surprise scratch on Monday, with the team not announcing his absence prior to warmups. We should get an update on his status ahead of Ottawa's game in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
