Aho has missed the last four games with a lower-body issue and concussion, but practiced on Monday and skated with Jordan Staal and Elias Lindholm in today’s gameday skate. Aho brings 16 goals and 21 assists (37 points) in 45 games to the Hurricanes lineup vs. the Senators.

Aho was back at practice on Monday and may be cleared to play Tuesday after missing the last four games with a lower-body injury and concussion. Aho’s return will be huge for the Hurricanes as he comes in second on the team in points (37).


Aho was hit in the head and the knee on a dangerous hit by Mark Giordano, that resulted in a match penalty for the defenseman. Aho was favoring his left leg as he was helped off of the ice, but luckily for the Hurricanes’ leading scorer, they have the next five days off with a bye week. Aho was hurt over the weekend but practiced on Monday and took part in today’s morning skate. Head coach Bill Peters said that Aho “should be good to go” so look for the talented second-year forward to play in Tampa Bay. Aho has six goals and four assists (10 points) in his last seven games.

The Hurricanes called Aho day-to-day with a lower-body injury after he left Saturday’s game in Boston early. However, Aho was back on the ice on Monday morning in a full capacity and it looks like he should be good-to-go for the Hurricanes game in Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
