Bennett was acquired from Calgary on Monday and will make his Panthers debut tonight in Tampa. Bennett will centre the second line with Jonathan Huberdeau and Anthony Duclair on his wings. Bennett has 12 points (4G / 8A) in 38 games this season.
Bennett will sit with Brett Ritchie drawing back into the lineup on Thursday. Bennett has scored just one goal with no assists in his last nine games.
Bennett recently requested a trade and being healthy scratched tonight is likely related to a deal being completed in the near future. With Bennett coming out of the lineup, Dominik Simon will draw back in.
Bennett was sick this morning and missed the game-day skate, so look for Zac Rinaldo to replace him on the fourth line if Bennett can't play.

The Flames have clinched a roster spot and it looks like Bennett will be the latest forward to be rested. Dillon Dube was recalled from Stockton (AHL) and is expected to replace him in the lineup.
Bennett missed Sunday’s game in St. Louis with an undisclosed issue but is expected to draw back in on Tuesday. Bennett is expected to replace James Neal (upper-body) on the Flames third line.
