McDonagh exited Saturday's 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals late in the first period due to an undisclosed injury, and is expected to miss several games. The 36-year-old defenseman is averaging 20:10 time-on-ice, recording six points (3G / 3A) and 26 blocks in 15 games this season.

After two seasons in Nashville, Ryan McDonagh will return to Tampa Bay where he spent five seasons after he was acquired on Tuesday alongside a 2024 4th round pick (EDM) from Nashville for a 2025 2nd round pick and a 2024 7th round pick. McDonagh will miss his sixth straight game on Monday but took part in the morning skate, which is a good sign that he'll be back at some point this week. Cal Foote will remain in the lineup until McDonagh is back.
