Graves is expected to be back in the Penguins' lineup on Tuesday.

With Pittsburgh expected to sit nearly half their regular roster on Tuesday vs. St. Louis, Ryan Graves will draw back into the lineup for just the 2nd time since March 22nd. The 30-year-old shut down defensemen has appeared in 21 games with Pittsburgh this season, struggling offensively with just one goal and and 20 SOG while constantly finding himself the odd-man out of the lineup.

Graves has been reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) on a conditioning loan.

Graves has not played since mid January, but is nearing a return, starting with a conditioning stint with Wiles-Barre/Scranton (AHL). The 30-year-old defenseman is averaging 15:29 time-on-ice an has one goal in 19 games this season. Pittsburgh has recalled Alexander Alexeyev in a corresponding move.

The Penguins placed Graves (lower-body) on injured reserve on Thursday.

Graves presumably picked up the injury at some point in Wednesday's win over the Flames, though exactly when is unclear. The Penguins have yet to announce a timeline for his return. Erik Karlsson (lower-body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Graves is expected to make his season debut vs. Washington on Thursday.

Graves started the season in the AHL, scoring seven points (1G / 6A) in 10 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, but will suit up for his season debut with Pittsburgh on Thursday. The 30-year-old defenseman has 118 points (32G / 86A) in 433 career NHL games.

Graves is expected to draw back into Pittsburgh's lineup on Friday in Buffalo.

Owen Pickering will be a healthy scratch on Friday against the Buffalo Sabres, allowing Graves to re-enter the lineup for the first time since January 3rd. The 29-year-old Graves is averaging 15:25 time-on-ice and has zero points, 40 blocks, and 36 hits in 31 games this season.
