Paul was sent back to Belleville after the Senators got home from Sweden because they had four days off. On Wednesday the Senators skated with 11 forwards and seven defensemen, but Paul’s call-up suggests that he may play and Chris Wideman will be a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old has five assists in 12 AHL games this season and five points (2G / 3A) in 26 career NHL games.

Paul, 20, may make his NHL debut on Tuesday with Mika Zibanejad questionable with an illness. Paul has picked up 17 points (6G / 11A) in 45 games with Binghamton this season. He centred the fourth line with Shane Prince and Chris Neil on the wing in the Senators’ morning skate.

The Senators have traded Jason Spezza and Ludwig Karlsson to the Stars for Alex Chiasson, prospects Alex Guptill, Nicholas Paul and a 2nd round pick in 2015.
Paul, 19, was selected in the fourth-round (#101 overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Paul had 26 goals and 20 assists (46 points) in 67 games with the North Bay Battalion (OHL) this season. Paul had a strong postseason as well, posting 18 points (12G / 6A) in 22 games.
