Kadri's name had circulated in trade rumours for weeks and was finally traded in a last-minute deal before the deadline to a team he had tremendous success with, the Colorado Avalanche. Kadri scored a career-high 87 points (28G / 59A) in 71 games with the Avalanche in the 2021-22 season en route to a Stanley Cup Championship. Now in his age-35 season, Kadri has remained an effective player, scoring 41 points (12G / 29A) in 61 games with Calgary.

Kadri played 22:46 time-on-ice in yesterday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens, his second-highest total of the season. He was absent from practice on Thursday for maintenance but will not miss any time, remaining in the lineup for Friday's game against the Winnipeg Jets. Kadri suffered an upper-body injury vs. the Sharks on March 31st and despite finishing that game, is going to sideline him for an extended period of time. The Avalanche are expecting him back for the playoffs, whether that's game 1 or not remains to be seen.

Kadri was missing from Friday's practice and will not play Saturday vs. the Penguins due to an upper-body injury that he picked up on Thursday. Alex Newhook will likely move up to centre the Avalanche second line.

Kadri was placed in COVID-19 protocol on December 18th but the team did not announce it until Sunday. The Avalanche provided expected return dates for all of the players still in protocol and put Kadri on track to be back ahead of Wednesday's game vs. Dallas.

Kadri will miss Friday's game vs. the Red Wings due to a lower-body injury that he suffered on Wednesday. Luckily for the Avalanche, they will get JT Compher back on Friday to replace Kadri in the top-6. Andre Burakovsky will take Kadri's spot on the top power-play unit.

Kadri missed Saturday's game in Ottawa but will play Monday in Philadelphia. Kadri has been outstanding as of late, scoring eight goals with 18 assists (26 points) in his last 14 games.

According to head coach Jared Bednar, Kadri got "dinged up" in Montreal and will be a game-time decision on Saturday. Monitor his status as the Avalanche hit the ice for warmups at 6:30 PM ET.
